570 Tasting Notes
My wife cold-brewed a jug of this with a touch of agave. I’m always a little leery of cherry teas – I do love cherry, but cherry teas usually come with jasmine and rose and hibiscus and other things that make it more like a mouthful of shampoo than tea. HOWEVER. This was a pleasant surprise! There is a hint of floral in it, but it’s very fruity. The agave makes it taste like candy. Still a little dry, but very tasty.
Preparation
This tea keeps drifting in and out of our stash – we get some, we give it away, we get some more, we give some more away. I thought we were all out, until we started cleaning the living room and found a stash of a dozen or so teas. And lo, there was Southern Belle! This is another of those blends that bowls me over with the scent but doesn’t quite deliver. Even so, it’s a very pleasant sweet peachy tea that’s not too over the top in any way. I think I’ll keep it around this time.
Preparation
Continuing my new habit of caffeine-free after seven. Had a tea party to unwind from work, and what is better for a tea party than pink tea? I do enjoy this blend, and I always forget how much. I just wish it wasn’t so heavy!
Preparation
This tea always smells amazing, all spicy and mysterious. I just wish that it delivered. I have tried different steep times, from my usual two minutes up to a very bitter base, but the flavouring just never steps up. The florals – which I don’t usually like – are almost non-existent. It wasn’t a bad cup, just . . . disappointing.
Preparation
Having a lot of trouble sleeping lately, and now that it’s getting cooler in the evenings we’re trying tea to help. I agree with what others say – this really knocks you right out.
We’ve been drinking this blended with the now-discontinued Vata Ayurvedic, but we picked some more up to try just straight, and it’s a much more mellow blend than we anticipated. The flavour isn’t overwhelming, but it’s perfect for a nighttime tea. There’s also a sweet lemony flavour that gets lost in the bold spices of the ayurvedic when they’re blended. On its own, it wasn’t nearly as medicinal as I was expecting, though towards the bottom of the pot it was a bit more tart and acrid.
Preparation
Steeped this with a touch of brown sugar last night, it was amazing. Trying not to have any caffeine after seven or so, and didn’t end up getting home until nine, but this was exactly what I was craving. I’m always a little thrown off when I reach for this one, because it looks like it would be very floral and the cinnamon scent is quite strong, but brewed up it all evens out into this delicious oatmeal crisp type flavour, very warming. Did the first steep at about four minutes, second one just over five, I think five would be better.
Preparation
Yum! Is this the new blend of Glow or the old one? I seem to recall they changed the blend about 6 months ago, but maybe I’m crazy!
