I tried a cup of this tea iced with nothing else added and thought that it wasn’t sweet enough. Plain, it tastes like pineapple and coconut without the natural sugars. I didn’t care for it too much that way. Then, I decided to mix it with some Coco Colada from DT. I enjoy this tea so much more that way and often crave the combination of the two teas if I am wanting an iced tea to cool off with. I wouldn’t repurchase alone, but in combination with Coco Colada, I would definitely consider it.

I don’t usually like floral teas and this tea smells very strongly of flowers. I absolutely adore the smell it gives off dry and while steeping. This tea tastes like apple and pear to me and is amazing steeped hot or made as an iced tea. It is a staple of my tea collection and is one of my absolute favourite teas of all time. I started with a 50 g bag of this tea, purchased 200 g when that ran out, bought another 250 g after that, and finally just got another 250 g on sale. It is really that good.

I am always interested in limited edition, seasonal teas. This was the last tea I redeemed my Frequent Steeper points for and I got a 50 g bag. When I first smelled it, I couldn’t put it down. I absolutely love the scent that this tea gives off and I’m not sure why. It doesn’t smell or taste very sweet and instead has a predominant unsweetened cocoa flavour. The sprinkles are also really cute. My one complaint with this tea is its strange aftertaste. Even upon adding agave to try and disguise it, the aftertaste is still extremely noticeable and unpleasant. I will enjoy the occasional cup of this tea while I have it but would not repurchase.
ETA- I have recently tried this as a latte with some warm milk and it is so much better that way. I now crave these lattes all the time. So, I have adjusted my rating as a result. I still am not sure if I would repurchase this however, as I wouldn’t drink it as is and would have to use it all up as lattes.
I finished all of the 50 g bag I had and would recommend drinking this tea as a latte but would not recommend drinking it straight up.

This is another tea that I have wanted to try for a long time. I saw it in store when the DavidsTea Easter Collection (2016) was released but did not try it or purchase it at the time. When it sold out of my local store before I could go back, I began to regret this decision. A few weeks ago, I decided to redeem my Frequent Steeper points and noticed they had some of this tea as an online exclusive. Needless to say, I jumped at the chance and got a 50 g bag. When it arrived, I opened the bag and loved the way it smelled so much that I couldn’t stop smelling it. The tea also tastes amazing. It is very creamy and chocolatey but not sickeningly sweet like some other chocolate teas. It also does not oversteep in my experience. It is one of my go-to teas now when I am making a travel mug to go out for the day with because you do not need to remove the tea infuser. If this came back to stores, I would definitely consider repurchasing. I will miss this tea now that I have run out completely.

This tea intrigued me when I saw it as a seasonal Halloween tea. I was even more interested in the claim that it turns dark green when steeped. I redeemed my frequent steeper points for a 50 g bag. It smells like strawberries and some kind of tropical fruit (maybe pineapple) and tastes similar to the way it smells. The tea definitely holds up to its claim of steeping dark green and looks cool if you drink it from a clear cup. I find that it is also best to steep this tea for quite a while (around 10 min for best results). I will enjoy this tea while I have it but I’m not sure if I would repurchase it if I could.

This tea was a free sample with my online order and smells absolutely amazing. It has a floral flavour to it which I don’t care for much and is easy to oversteep if you use water that is too hot or leave the tea in too long. I did finish the whole cup, but it’s not a tea I would buy or want to drink again. If you tend to like floral teas, this would probably be your “cup of tea” more than it is mine.

I got this tea as a free sample with my online order. It smells and tastes just like red hot cinnamon hearts. At this point, I’m unsure if this is a good thing or a bad thing. It’s strange to be drinking the flavour of cinnamon hearts in a hot tea. Something I did notice is that the sample appeared to contain almost no tea but when I steeped it, the leaves expanded significantly more than I have seen with any other tea. It’s not something I would buy or crave another cup of but was drinkable.

This tea is one of my absolute favourites. I tasted it for the first time in the 2015 Advent Calendar and fell in love. I’ve since bought a tin of 100 g, and then a 250 g tin. The tea has a light flavour and needs to be steeped for a long time (I’ve found the longer the better, even 20+ min). It really does remind me of banana bread though and I think that is why I love it so much.

drank Luscious Watermelon by DAVIDsTEA

I generally love DavidsTea, and got this tea as a part of the 2016 Summer Collection. I tried brewing it iced, in one of my DavidsTea travel mugs. I generally dislike the flavour of artificial watermelon and this tea smelled just like it, which had me worried. When I tasted it, I hated it. The tea tastes like plastic, fake watermelon. I offered the rest of my mug to my mom, who loves watermelon. She couldn’t stand the tea either. It ended up getting dumped out and the remaining 20 g of loose leaf tea has sat on the cupboard for months without being touched. I would never drink this tea again.

Bio

I started drinking tea in 2016 after trying the 2015 DavidsTea advent calendar. I fell in love and my relationship with tea only escalated from there. I now am a drinker of hot and iced teas and have recently expanded to hot and iced lattes. I have yet to explore the world of matcha though. Most of my teas are from DavidsTea but I am open to trying most loose leaf teas. My preferred sweetener is agave (I only use when needed) and my favourite types of teas are herbal, fruit, chocolate, and rooibos.
