I received a 50 g bag of this tea around 10 months ago for free. It smells strongly of almonds. I tried it once, hot, and didn’t like it. Plain, it gets bitter very quickly. So, the bag sat for all of that time without being touched again. Someone recently suggested I try this tea as a latte to use it up. I made it as an eggnog latte and ended up using the entire bag in a day. It is so good that way. Since I’d never drink this tea hot, iced, or any other way, I will not repurchase but it is amazing as an eggnog latte.

drank Ice Cream Cake by DAVIDsTEA

So, long story short, I love this tea. I bought 100 g on sale when it was released at Easter. I don’t think it tastes like ice cream cake however it has a delicious chocolatey flavour that I crave regularly. I will be extremely sad when my tin is empty as I have already used the majority of the 100 g I bought. I often brew this tea in my travel mug and just leave it in there as I drink it since I find it doesn’t oversteep. I will definitely look out for a return of this tea and will for sure consider buying more.

This tea was the first loose leaf tea I ever tried. I first tasted it in last year’s advent calendar hot and loved it. When I heard it was returning this year, I stocked up during the F&F sale. I ended up buying a full tin of 150 g. Since then, I’ve tried it iced and it is even more amazing that way. It tastes like cinnamon and fruit without the cinnamon being too overwhelming. It is my favourite winter/Christmas tea and I will be sad when my tin runs out.

I got a free 50 g bag of this tea several months ago when I redeemed my frequent steeper points. I first tried it hot and thought it was okay. No matter how long or short of a time I steep it, I get a distinctly strong and tart berry flavour. Then, I tried it iced. The tart flavour is much stronger when this tea is iced. I don’t crave it or love it. DavidsTea has much better iced teas that I like a lot more so I will not be repurchasing this but did easily use it up.

I had a free 50 g bag of this tea given to me months ago. I tried it hot, with and without sweeteners and didn’t like it at all. So, the bag sat for almost 8 months. Today, someone suggested I try it iced to use it up and it is so much better than way. I still don’t love it. I don’t even really like it. It’s essentially just drinkable now but I would not repurchase and will be happy when my bag runs out.

drank Red Velvet Cake by DAVIDsTEA

Last night, I decided to kill two birds with one stone. I’ve had a 50 g bag of this tea for months that has been slowly emptying and finally used all of it up. I also revoked my tea latte virginity card and had my very first tea latte using this tea. May I say, it was amazing. I drank the entire cup in less than a minute which was a huge improvement from having to work at it to drink this tea if I made it plain. This doesn’t taste anything like red velvet to me, however. It has a strong chocolate flavour but its missing the raspberry to call it red velvet. I don’t think I will buy this tea again, but I am very glad it made my first latte experience a good one.

This tea is my absolute favourite iced tea and has been for quite some time. I first tried this tea when it was the TOTD during the summer and fell in love. It smells sweet, almost like fruit juice and tastes like juice or kool-aid without all of the sugar. I get hints of cranberry and cherry. I also love this tea because the profits go to charity which makes me feel better about buying it. I’ve since picked up a 100 g tin and then another 100 g when that ran out. This tea is definitely a staple in my collection and I will for sure repurchase when I run out. It is just so tasty and refreshing.

drank Strawberry Colada by DAVIDsTEA

I first tried this tea when it came out as TOTM earlier this year. I loved it in-store so I bought a 50 g bag and then another 100 g tin before it disappeared. I don’t think I would like this tea hot, but iced it is amazing. It tastes like a strawberry colada without any fake strawberry flavouring which is fantastic since I cannot stand the taste of fake strawberry. I also get hints of coconut, pineapple, and hibiscus which combine to make the tea slightly tart without being too overwhelming. Finally, I am a fan of the bright red colour that this tea steeps. I will definitely consider buying this again once I run out.

I absolutely love this tea. I first tried it as a part of the 2016 Carnival Collection and it was instantly a favourite. I picked up 80 g after that and then 250 g more in a tinzilla when it went on sale at 50% off. The tea actually tastes just like a frozen chocolate covered banana when it is made iced. I did not care for this tea hot, no matter how I tried preparing it though.

drank Coco Colada by DAVIDsTEA

This tea steeps a pale, soft pink colour which surprised me right off the bat. It smells just like a Pina Colada with strong hints of coconut and pineapple. It also tastes incredibly similar to a Pina Colada. I find that it is a great tea to make a full pitcher of that you can leave in the fridge all day and come back to as you would like. I’ve noticed that it leaves a white film of some kind which can be hard to wash off. Another way to make this tea that is fantastic is in combination with Tropicalia (also from DT). I don’t often find myself craving this tea iced, but it is a fantastic summery iced tea that I will consider repurchasing if it comes back. I have also recently discovered that I love this tea hot.

Bio

I started drinking tea in 2016 after trying the 2015 DavidsTea advent calendar. I fell in love and my relationship with tea only escalated from there. I now am a drinker of hot and iced teas and have recently expanded to hot and iced lattes. I have yet to explore the world of matcha though. Most of my teas are from DavidsTea but I am open to trying most loose leaf teas. My preferred sweetener is agave (I only use when needed) and my favourite types of teas are herbal, fruit, chocolate, and rooibos.
