737 Tasting Notes
Jasmine is always a good way to start the day. ^^ I didn’t expect this to be anything amazing, but I was a bit surprised of how light the jasmine was in this tea. It tasted kinda perfume-y, maybe kinda flowery even. But barely smelled.
It was just a nice, delicate tea to start my Saturday. (:
Thanks, darby, for the samples!
Flavors: Flowers, Jasmine, Perfume
First off, this tea definitely smells amazing!
Not gonna lie, I ate a bunch of icees before I brewed up this cup of tea. So my tasting probably is just weird now. It doesn’t seem like most people taste cinnamon in this tea, but there’s a hint of it in there. Maybe that’s just the almond part I’m tasting? I’m not really sure. But I really like this tea! ^^ Thanks so much, mj1851!!
Flavors: Chocolate, Cinnamon, Nutty
So…I gotta say first off, I don’t get why all the Golden Moon Tea ads are all about this one tea. They act like it is the BEST coconut tea you’ll ever have!
Because like most coconut teas taste the same…It seems pretty hard to screw up a coconut tea. But that’s just a newbie talking. What do I know!
Anyway, the initial flavor I caught was obviously coconut.
But after a few sips all I could taste was butter. Slightly salty even. It’s like you go to the theater and instead of putting the butter on your popcorn you put it all into drink and put a pinch of salt in after it. That’s how buttery it tastes. Imagine drinking that straight…that’s how it is.
Well…that sounds horrible. It’s drinkable, but I’ve had better coconut teas. Maybe I’m just off today xD Sorry, mj1851!!
Flavors: Butter, Coconut, Salt
I recently fell out of love with coconut tea. Don’t get me wrong, I’m CRAZY about coconut itself, but I find it spoils quickly in blends and always end up tasting weir and waxy to me. I just don’t buy them anymore.
Weird. Yeah, it’s kinda hit or miss with me, and I gotta be in the mood. Definitely gotta be in the mood. xD
No need to apologize! We all have different tastes. Sorry you didn’t like it though cuz I’m loving the Nina’s samples you sent (which are the only ones I’ve tried so far).
Another tribute tea for John Harney. This one given to me by the awesome, mj1851. Thanks so much! (:
Couldn’t really taste much coconut in this one, but it was definitely chocolatey! Ah, I do love a good, rich chocolate tea! ^^ I’ll definitely have to buy this!
Holy Shanghai 0_0
This tastes and smells exactly like a sugar cookie. No joke! I can’t explain it in any other way-it’s just like eating a cookie. I’m in love!
Thank you soo much, mj1851!! I’m gonna have to stock up on this tea! :D
I usually grab a box of this one around Christmas. It’s very tasty and I love caffeine free options! Nutcracker Sweet is also good (from the same series).
I have never seen it in stores before! I’ve totally been missing out through all the years! So glad to finally try! (:
Yeah Celestial Seasonings has like 4 or 5 limited holiday blends. There’s also a candy cane green tea and a pumpkin spice. :)
I just discovered that these exist, tooooo!!! Now I really want to get them:P Is it Christmas, yet?:D
Last time I bought them, they were on a special display and it wasn’t in the tea aisle. Maybe your stores were hiding them, too!
Not gonna lie…was kinda disappointed by this tea. I thought it would be way sweeter than it actually was. But mainly tasted just like oolong tea…slightly nutty, and maybe a hint of caramel. Eh, not my favorite, but so glad I got to try it before I wasted my money on it. Thanks so much, mj1851!
I felt the same way about this one. It’s not what you would expect from the name and it’s a little on the old side as well. Anyway, I’m much more impressed with the Coconut Pouchong. I’ll be interested to see if you like that one better :-).
P.S. Coconut pouchong is good hot and does really well as a cold brew.
I’m actually curious about this one. I’m considering ordering the Golden Moon gift set, which has this and 11 other teas – most of which I am interested in trying. Hmmmm…
Aw, thanks for the offer, but I think I’ll just wait and grab the set, since there are several other teas in it that I’m very interested in trying. No sense in taking some from you! :P
This was the first tea I tried from Harney & Sons, it was also one of the first teas that I’d label as a “comfort” tea. It is everything I’d want in a tea. It’s just perfect to me.
Drinking this today as tribute to John Harney. Thank you for brightening my life, as well as thousands of others with your company. (:
I have never been a huge cinnamon fan. But, like everyone else, I do enjoy cinnamon buns from time to time. This is the perfect cinnamon tea for me-not too overpowering, it’s just right. (: Tastes exactly like a cinnamon bun, even with a hint of icing flavor.
After years and years of not being able to eat desserts in peace, I’m soo excited to have found teas that taste exactly like the desserts I have been missing out on through the years! _
Only bought an ounce of this to see what all the hype was about…that was a mistake! Now this tea is once again unavailable, for who knows how long! But it will definitely be worth the wait once I can get more!
I thought this tea would taste way more fruity than it actually did. But it’s creamy, almost caramel-y. It’s just…ugh…this tea. It’s so good.
It just tastes so creamy and sweet. There’s a light pineapple taste to it, but not overpowering. This tea is definitely a win! :D
Flavors: Caramel, Cream, Pineapple
I think you will. You said you liked creamy teas. So you’ll probably like it! :D What else did you order from there?
I got apple cinnamon chamomile, blueberry creme, caramel oolong, cotton candy, white chocolate raspberry, and this one. I saw that you didn’t enjoy the cotton candy, but I tend to like rooibos so hopefully I’ll like it more. :D
Nice! :P Can’t wait to see your tasting notes for all of those! ^^ Especially the cotton candy. I gotta try that one again soon. Maybe it will be better a second time around!
So this is one of the last samples that Virginia sent me…storm it, I’m gonna spend all my money at David’s Tea and Tealux. It’s ridiculous! XD
I figured this tea would taste like honey since its name is Jin Jun Mei Golden Eyebrow. You know…codeword for honey…well, maybe that doesn’t make sense to you. But that’s how my stupid brain works I guess.
The first couple sips definitely did taste like honey mixed with malty-ness which I loved. But then the honey flavor went away and was replaced by a roast-y flavor…which I thought was even better. But then when all was well it started tasting more nutty than malt-y. 0_0 I have no idea what happened. That was one of the strangest teas I’ve ever had. I have no idea what’s goin’ on with my taste buds today xD
So overall it was a pretty good tea. Just not exactly what I expected. And now I just have the taste of peanuts in my mouth. So weird-but a good weird! I’ll probably get more! XD Thanks again, Virginia!
Flavors: Honey, Malt, Nutty
Cool that “perfume” is now an available tasting note! ;-)
