737 Tasting Notes
Finally ordered this a couple DavidsTea orders ago, but only just now got the “chance” to try it.
People give such mixed reviews, and some people say it’s super citrusy which I can’t stand but then others say it has like tons of other good flavors so I was interested…and apparently no one has this tea that wants to swap soo I had to buy it. XD
When I opened the bag I was hit by a wave of strong citrus orange aroma that made me feel totally uneasy, but I brewed a cup of it up anyway.
I brewed this tea the same time I brewed up another since I was just doing a quick taste test before dinner.
I tried this after like ten minutes but it was still really hot so I decided to try the other one. My mouth has been like ultra sensitive lately to everything anyway, soo like it probably wasn’t all that heat hot but it sure felt that way to my tongue.
So I drank the other tea and in the middle of drinking the other tea I once again got super shaky suddenly from I guess not eating enough today…That doesn’t happen that much. But was super intense this time so I couldn’t really drink this tea. :(
The few sips I did have, I tasted some citrus, mango, the sourness of chamomile, and some creaminess which seems kinda odd. So yeah. I don’t feel like I can give this a full, legit review till I try it without my health issues getting in the way xD
But that’s my first experience with it!
Maybe tomorrow will try it again.
Flavors: Citrus, Citrusy, Creamy, Mango, Orange, Sour
Picked this one up the other day since I love peach teas and it’s an herbal, plus these are the kinds of teas that my family really likes so I give it to them if I hate it, or if sometimes I don’t hate it since they just like this brand of tea.
I really do like some of their teas, just not tons I guess.
Was kinda expecting it to be more peachy.
But it just tasted more kinda artificial and kinda like the outside of the peach. The skin or whatever. I mean it has a lot of flavor. But not that right peach for me. I know my family will like it though so that’s great for them! :D
Flavors: Artificial, Peach, Sweet
This tea is like two years old, might be over that actually xD
And it still is full of flavor. Well was-even though the packaging wasn’t amazing. Maybe chamomile teas don’t require as good of storage as other teas? No idea. But sipped this one down this week. Was sooo tempted to buy it again at the store today but I controlled myself. Need to work on sipping down my other teas first!
But this is definitely one of their better teas in my opinion. Really did help calm my muscles when I drank this tea. Actually after I went to DCA last week, on Wednesday I think it was? I had to have like two days to recover and like both those days I just drank chamomile and it really seemed to help! (: So definitely will buy this again…just when I’ve sipped down more of my teas.
Side Note
Also, just wanna say a quick thing. If you follow me on IG and like actually take the time to comment on my photos. Particularly, the ones that I took pics of my dresses since Albertocanfly really wanted to see me in them so I promised her pics. xD And like I don’t like when people fish for compliments, and I don’t know if I came off that way or anything-did not have that in mind. People usually just tell me how awful I look in person since I don’t wear makeup and yeah, I’m just not the prettiest person, and I don’t really see myself as that great because all growing up always compared myself to my drop dead gorgeous sister who like all the guys swoon over. She had curves, big boobs, a bouncy personality, great hair, she had it all. And everyone would always tell me how gorgeous she was…
So I don’t really feel the best about my body and stuff. But like when those of you who actually commented and said that I looked nice or whatever, that was really sweet. And Like I don’t think I’ve ever gotten that many compliments, and you guys have just been so sweet to me. If you haven’t already figured it out, IG is like my place to vent lately, and I’m sorry if my posts all sound whiny and stuff. xD But man, some of you guys are just really sweet and encouraging and I wish that I could hug each one of you when you drop a sweet or encouraging comment on one of my photos. Like it just means so much to me. It really is the little things for me. Thank you for being so kind to me—it just means a lot. I can’t get over it, like you guys really are some of the kindest people I’ve ever known-and it just means a lot. So thanks to all those who have ever dropped a really sweet or encouraging comment on any of my photos. They mean a lot. (:
Flavors: Honey, Pleasantly Sour, Sweet
So my dad brought me home this random TGY oolong from China, was a bit nervous that he wouldn’t find the right once since I also had asked him to find me a cheap teapot but he said he couldn’t find any and yeah, there was much confusion over the tea stuff too xD
But alas!
He did find a tea!
Of course he bought me two boxes of it-to all those who follow me on Instagram, I will post of a picture of what he got me later. :P
So when I opened up the package it smelled like floral and like orchard-y. I don’t think that’s a scent, but I can’t explain it. It’s not grass and not like veggies, but it’s like trees and i don’t know.. But like It’s really good smell.
Was nervous about this being a buttery oolong too-but!
It only has a small hint of butter-the main flavor is floral and that like orchard-y taste that I LOVE in oolongs! I steeped it for 5 minutes last time I tried it and like feels no matter how long I actually do it it’s not a super bold TGY,which is disappointing. But hey, it might be a lighter one, but sometimes I am in the mood for a less intense floral oolong. So yeah, I have lots of it soo if you happen to be into the green floral tasting oolongs you should let me know!
I already know I gotta send some to The Cookie Lady since she loves those teas too xD
If you like that kind of tea definitely hit me up even if we happened to have just swapped. It’s in vacuum sealed packaging so like it’s pretty safe even if I sent it to you in a few months. I’m not down for swapping tons at the moment because of my poor health but I’m hoping that I’ll at least catch up on some things so I can do better at swapping and all-but yeah. This tea is a winner! (:
Flavors: Floral, Sweet
Was really looking forward to this one, all these “honey oolongs” keep making me assume that there are honey notes in them! Which is not true for me, sadly. :(
This one tasted mainly buttery to me, but not like a salty buttery. More like a creamy buttery. Which I don’t usually find in teas. It’s usually like a salty buttery flavor. xD That probably makes 0 sense. I blame it on my druggy brain-on pain killers 24/7,so things can get pretty off sometimes.
Anyway XD
This had some hints of floral, but not enough to outweigh the butteriness. I can’t do the buttery flavors in oolongs, they just make me feel sick. :( Which I get enough of when I eat normal food anyway! So yeah, not my favorite. :(
Thanks for the sample though, Cookies!
Flavors: Butter, Creamy, Floral
Cookies gave me an oolong…Not really sure what it said on the bag because it’s like in cursive…and though I did learn cursive as a child, I hated it, sooo I really avoided at all costs to write in it. I could read pretty much everything else, but this one tea. Either it’s not in this system or I can’t read it. xD I have no idea.
So I apologize Cookies!
This one wasn’t my favorite anyway. Was mainly roasty and nutty. Kinda like 50/50. Neither one really dominated which was rather nice, I admit. But still not my favorite. Always glad to try another oolong though. So thank you, Cookies! :D
Flavors: Nutty, Roasted
Tiny order from Verdant came in the other day, can’t resist their cheap samples, PLUS free shipping. Mainly the free shipping bit to be honest :P
Anyway, was expecting to reallyy like this tea, but wow, it was super smokey.
Smokey is the only flavor I could pick out :(
Oy! Definitely not for me!
Flavors: Smoke
Aww, I’m not a fan of smoke either, so it really sucks when you get a tea in that ends up being unexpectedly smoky.
do you want to swap some of that imperial breakfast with me? you can check out my cupboard :D id love to try that tea :D
Just tried this sample that that Taiwan tea company sent out to people a few months ago-I can’t find them on here, so I figured I’d just use this. I got their Honey Black tea, and was really excited about it because it sounded like it would be honey-ish. But it just was super roasted….and I don’t like that there were no brewing instructions…that didn’t help either :/ Glad it was just a free sample!
Flavors: Roasted
Thanks to Albertocanfly I get to try this tea I’ve been dying to try! Apparently it’s like in every store around the holiday season but the ones which I go into xD
no idea why…
It’s kinda weird-haha!
Wasn’t expecting too much because I’ve had an awful experience with Bigelow, their tea just tastes bad to me.
But this one surprised me!
The dry leaf smell did remind me of egg nog.
Couldn’t focus much on the steeping aroma because I got my order from DavidsTea and only 1/4th of it was right…so I was in a state of unbelief because the packing slip was right but they sent me a tea I didn’t even add to my cart ever. Ughh sometimes that company….
I think I’m the only one who has bad experiences with them ever, that’s what It feels like at least.
So I didn’t focus on the flavors too much because I was busy writing them an annoyed email.
This tea does remind me of egg nog, but I think that DTT Winter Nog reminds me of it more just because the cinnamon isn’t as over-powering. This one is good but not something I would buy. Super happy I got to try it though! And thank you, Albertocanfly for sending me more than one of those tea bags because hopefully next time I won’t have to be so distracted by having to email a company for screwing up the simplest of orders. xD But really, thank you, Albertocanfly! :D
Flavors: Cinnamon, Nutmeg
This was a sample from The Cookie Lady! And considering I’m planning on seeing her again this Thursday I figured I’d finally try it. xD
Not a huge plum fan, but sometimes it’s good in teas.
But I think the main thing is that barley is NOT for me. xD Totally tastes like coffee.
The dry leaf smell was just plum, but then when I drank it the plum was barley there, and it was just coffee. If I wanna drink coffee, I’ll make some or go get some, but feels so wrong to have that flavor in my tea! XD Oy. Thanks for letting me try though, The Cookie Lady!
Flavors: Coffee, Plum
