737 Tasting Notes
Okay, so the dry leaf aroma of this one actually smelled malty. So I got a little more excited.
But when I began drinking it, there was no malt at all. D:
It just tasted like wood and grapes. I feel like most of these darjeelings taste like wood to me. But not just plain wood. Wood plus something else. xD
Ehh I liked the last better!
Thanks for the sample, Marz!
Flavors: Grapes, Wood
So like, when I think gingerbread, I don’t just think ginger. I think like ginger, cinnamon, pastry, doughy. Ya know?
But feels like most of these gingerbread teas are just ginger. It’s like tea companies take the “ginger” in “gingerbread” wayyy too seriously. I’d hate eating their gingerbread cookies for Christmas. 0_0
This one just tasted like ginger. Was hoping for more :(
This darjeeling is even more weird than the last! XD
While it is pretty woody still, at the end of each sip there’s like a malty flavor going on. Didn’t think darjeelings were supposed to be malty, but then again…I barely understand them. xD This one is better though. So far in my exploration of darjeeling, this one is the best. But still, doesn’t really feel like my kind of tea…
Thanks for the sample, Marz!
Flavors: Malt, Wood
Marzipan Was nice enough to send me samples of more darjeelings to try. And honestly, I still don’t quite know what to think.
This one is super woody but also like sweet, as if there were honey in it. Darjeelings are continuing to confuse me. xD But yeah…this one is really woody. xD
Thanks for the sample, Marz!
Flavors: Honey, Sweet, Wood
This is from a swap a couple months ago with Steven Cook. He sent me his own blend of Teavana’s Monkey Picked Oolong and Four Seasons Oolong.
The dry leaf and steeping aroma is slightly floral, but not very strong.
The actual taste is kinda the same. Maybe it lost its flavor in the zip lock bag in came in, or maybe it’s old? I’m not sure. :( Bummer about this one though.
This one doesn’t have much flavor. It’s a very lightly roasted Dong Ding. Nothing super special. But I’m glad it’s not overly roasty. I really don’t like overly roasty oolongs much anymore. ><
But this one is more drinkable. Thanks for the sample, LiberTEAS! Always happy to try another oolong!
