737 Tasting Notes
Another one from Teri!
So this one I’m not such a fan of. I think I might have over-steeped it a little so it came out really really strong. xD Pretty woody…and kinda reminds me of horse manure. xD Great description, right? Oy. I’m sorry haha My taste buds suck clearly!
Thanks for the sample though, Teri. Glad to have tasted it before I wasted money!
This is the first tea I’ve tried out of the box Terri so generously sent me! I can’t get over how much she sent me-it’s crazy. If you see this, Terri, thank you soo much again! I’m so excited to try them all! :D
Been wanting to try this one for a while, and lemme say, I was not disappointed!
I had a feeling that it would taste like wood because feels like half the teas everyone adores on here taste like wood to me. xD
But it didn’t! Like not at all! :O
It was mainly malty. With kinda a faint apricot note in it. Wasn’t really a sweet malty. It was more of a bold, rich malty flavor. Really enjoyed this one!
Will have to consider picking this one up. Got enough of this tea for a few more cups so I have time to make up my mind!
Thank you for the generous sample, Terri!!
Flavors: Apricot, Malt
Darby was nice enough to send me a sample of this one! Glad I got to try it finally! Tastes a lot like the other chai from Verdant that I tried. Except instead of the creaminess that I liked in the other, it kinda tastes like dirt. 0_0
I’ve never had a chai that tastes like dirt. Didn’t over-steep it at all. So no idea what’s with that. xD
Still glad to have tried. Thanks, Darby!
Flavors: Dirt, Spices
SOOOOO much better than I expected!!
It’s sooo good. Wow.
I wasn’t expecting much…not sure why…maybe was because I don’t like Downton Abbey, and it’s a tea based off of that show. xD
This tea tastes like honey. Nothing super fancy. Just super sweet and honey-y.
It’s delicious! ^^
I would totally buy this.
The only thing is is that…You can only get it at Cost Plus apparently. D:
I still am boycotting them. I’m still really ticked off at them over their terrible CS.
Maybe I will ask for it for Christmas so technically I wouldn’t be giving them my money…and I can still boycott them!
That might work. If I remember haha
Anwho-thanks to Darby for this sample!! :D :D I will fully enjoy the other tea bag of this you gave me! So happy to have tried it!
Another win from ROT!

Another one from my Tao Tea Leaf order! ^^
Didn’t have this one before but since it got such good reviews everywhere I decided to add it to my order.
The dry leaf smelled pretty roasty and nutty, which always seems to remind me of shelled peanuts. Seems kinda odd, but that’s where my mind always goes to xD
The actual taste was pretty chocolate-y. Lots of cocoa notes.
Was pretty roasty though, with an tiny hint of nuttiness that I got in the dry leaf aroma.
This tea reminded me of Verdant’s Laoshan Black, but with more chocolate and cocoa notes. I like this one a lot more than the LB, but it’s still not my absolute favorite. xD Nothing to write home about in my book.
But it’s still good. Nice to have a choclatey tea in my collection for now. (:
Flavors: Chocolate, Cocoa, Nuts, Roasted
Soo this was actually the first tea I tried from my Tao Tea Leaf order. It was also one of the free samples that they gave me. They gave me a 50g sample of this one-was not expecting this at all! This free sample alone made all the frustration and disappointment that I dealt with for a month worth it! Not that I want my order to get lost ever again so I can get free tea, but it made me at least feel better about ordering again!
This tea is gorgeous. It’s those emerald green oolong leaves that are absolutely stunning! Reminds me of WP’s Autumn Jade Oolong.
The flavor is even better!
It has such intense floral notes. Probably the most floral tea I’ve ever tried!
It re-steeps well too! Have had it on two different days since I got my order a few days ago and every time it just rocks my world.
It’s just that good. Ugh I love it.
Definitely going to get this one next time I order!
Such a beautiful tea on every level!
Flavors: Butter, Floral, Perfume, Smooth
FINALLY got my Tao Tea order yesterday. After over a month of complications that is.
But they let me pick out a couple free samples…and not only that but the samples were HUGE.
They gave me an oolong sample that was 52g and a black tea sample that was 26g. Crazy big.
Might have actually been worth all the disappointment and stress this order caused me over the last month and a bit. xD
This was not a free sample, but a tea I had wanted to try from them for a while. This was the second tea i tried in my order.
Steeped it for about three minutes. A little bit too bold, but it was still good. Very malty. Not too much sweetness, mainly just malt.
Next time I am going to steep it for like two minutes and maybe it will be less in-your-face. XD But i still really liked it! I do love a malty tea! ^^
So today I had to go see my dr at UCLA. Decided to stop by Lupicia since it’s right near there, only to find that it was gone. I was there a few weeks ago and there wasn’t any sign or anything that they were going out of business. But it kinda makes sense.
Might have higher quality tea than Teavana, but it’s not the kind of store that would stay in business. The people weren’t really nice or anything, and since they don’t get paid by commission like Teavana they didn’t have much of a reason to talk to you or anything. xD So not really surprised. just kinda bummed out. Guess I’m back to ordering that stuff online and paying the ridiculous shipping price! :(
Anywho, so since I couldn’t go there I decided to turn in my free tea to go coupon from Teavana that I got with my last order.
This tea was a sample in the store, and I had never tried it before. I have always liked the strawberry rose champagne tea, so I HAD to try this one.
Oh my word.
This is like my new favorite tea from Teavana!
It’s seriously sooo good!
The jasmine mixed with the strawberry rose is such a good combo! I’m really impressed by it! The strawberry rose gives it a really sweet taste, which would be even enough without the rock sugar, and the jasmine gives it that floral tone to it that I love. It’s just such a good combo. I’m actually really really shocked.
Apparently this is their newest blend.
I have the strawberry rose tea at home already. I really need to pick up some jasmine pearls and mix them. I can’t wait-I am so excited to do that!
Getting this tea made up for the sadness over Lupicia not being there anymore.
It was just THAT good.
I honestly am so so impressed. I Mean I like a few teas from there, but it’s not like my favorite place to get tea from, and I don’t order actual tea from there that much.
But this is one that I’d totally buy.
It’s only gonna be a sample for like a week and a half more they said. So if any of you people actually like Teavana and live near one, you should totally go and try this one. it’s sooo good! :D
Flavors: Floral, Jasmine, Rose, Smooth, Strawberry, Sweet
I don’t know what I did wrong.
Steeped it at the proper temp for the proper amount of time.
It tasted like bergamot.
I don’t know why. But it totally reminded me of Paris and The Tower of London. I seriously don’t even know what’s going on with my taste buds anymore. But this tea totally tastes like those two teas.
I didn’t even order any flavored teas with this one. Only the Golden Monkey. This is just a really really really really weird tea. :(
Another tea I was really really hoping to like. My taste buds must be so off. :(
