Well this is interesting, mostly rosemary notes. It doesn’t seem that this mixes very well, the raspberry leaves are very light and float to the top of the mixture. I shook the bag to try and distribute, but I still don’t think I scooped a good mix. It brews up dark, and I can distinguish the underlying puerh, but mostly this is smoky rosemary. Typically I like to mix my shou with peppermint, but I might try throwing a tiny tiny bit of rosemary in there too.

The label on this pouch says Peppermint Hot Cocoa and I thought this was the closest since the hot chocolate entry for NecessiTeas doesn’t have peppermint in it and this was mostly peppermint for me. Like a weak peppermint patty candy, there is chocolate lurking in the background but mostly refreshing mint. The temperature here got down to 60 last night so this morning was a good time to try a cup of this, certainly not at the heat of a 90 degree day today.
Thanks to who put it in the box, glad I got to try!

Wow this tea is tasty. Its got an edge to it like a good IPA beer, but a nice tobacco and nut finish. I’m comparing it in my mind to the kenya tea I have from S&V and this one seems more flavorful and slightly harsher. I used to have a bagged tea from Kenya that I could get in a British import store in Houston, but that has long been out of my cupboard. This black loose leaf would compare well to that bagged tea, maybe they were grown nearby.
The Rakkasan website looks interesting, and I may need to purchase a sampler pack for a taste test to share with my dad.
Thanks for sharing in the TTB, I’ve enjoyed this one.

A nutty and strong brew good for a morning wakeup. Not bitter or astringent. Might be enticed to add a tin to an order from Harney. I like the darjeeling nuttyness as a change from my regular yunnan brew. Thanks for sharing (looks like Shae’s handwriting on the pack)!

Not sure what I expected, its mostly sweet caramel, with a cookie aftertaste and stevia. Glad I got to sample it but wouldn’t purchase or need to drink another cup. I should have looked more closely at the ingredients for the stevia, the tisane is perfectly ok, would be better without the stevia.
The TTB 2022 is here and I pulled this one out of the herbal ziplock to try for a nightime tisane. Boy the lemon here is underwhelming. I added lemongrass to the second steep and that made it slightly better? Not sure I want to give this a rating as it would be dismal.
Flavors: Nutty
This one from Maya is a bit underwhelming, the blackberry flavor is a bit sour on the first brew, and weaker on the second brew. It could be I’m brewing it too strong, or its better as an iced tea. I will experiment with the rest of the pouch, but I wouldn’t need more of this tea.
Flavors: Sage, Sour
This is a very tasty and infinitely drinkable Chai. I wouldn’t say I’m a huge fan of spicy chai tea, and this one is mellow enough with ginger and cardamom notes that two steeps disappeared rather quickly this morning. Not complex, but rather a soothing and well blended chai that I will purchase again.
Flavors: Cardamom, Clove, Ginger
When I seemed I had been drinking the same few teas every morning I rummaged in my cupboard and came up with this staple, quick to brew, astringent, but tasty. A nice way to start the day!
Wow, that sounds really interesting. I’m looking at this vendor now; I have never heard of them previously but there’s some really intriguing blends here here.
