For future reference? Oversteeped, this tastes like a burnt whiskey keg tea. Seriously.

This is my comfort, go-to tea, and I now buy it in batches of 100g whenever there’s a sale. I’ve missed you Cold 911, even when I’m feeling well… you just rock my casbah.

Steeped this all night, downed it this morning, trying to fight off a tickle in my throat.

This is THE tea from WP that I’d order in ridiculous amounts, and it was never enough. I could drink it every day, it’s spicy and rough and tumble, blunt, this-is-how-it-is tea. In your face tea. I AM IN CHARGE TEA! I own you, tea. Yes, I love this stuff, because it’s so akin to my personality (which is to say, a bit abrasive with a lot of spice and passion).

This version of the tea (which I ordered prior to my six month exploration of Europe, but it only got here after I left) is VERY different to the versions I’ve had in the past. This version, and I don’t know what’s changed, is dark, dark purple, almost black. It tastes strongly of molasses and little else. I still drink it, I still feel amazeballs, but it’s less — me — than it was in the past.

Still love this tea, and knew I could count on it for some yum amidst the ick I’ve found so far in my cupboard today. I WANT MORE CHILI! There’s really none in any sip I’ve had (last time or this time) and this makes me sad. I also get no pineapple – it’s really just a fantastic, luscious, mango tea with enormous mango chunks in it.

Oh wait — I taste pineapple this time. Hooray!

If anyone wants any, let me know – this is one of those “hard to get teas” (not even sure if you can get it anymore), and while I do love it, it’s not on my must-have list.

Pretty sure this is one of the original blends (before it was called Man Teas, it was 52 Teas, in it’s first incarnation). Regardless, over ever opened the bag for swaps at people’s requests, thought it was high time I tried it.

Uh… so… dry this smells okay. Smokey? Steeped this is just plain gross. Granular, fake chocolate (like, really fake, bad chocolate), something fake smoke-ish, and then well, none of the goodness that is bacon.

Nope, not doing this one again. Five or so sips and it’s gone.

Unsure if this is a reblend or the original, but I know that it’s from the original 52Teas (i.e. Frank). Regardless, it’s just… I can feel where it wants to go, but it’s just not getting there for me. The base tastes like wet paper, the mint is there, underneath some chocolate, but it’s just… fake. Faint. uh… another f-word I’ll refrain from using here.

This is one of those teas that people firmly sit on one side of the fence with: either it’s too weird (cumin?) or really comforting (almond, the name). Being a huge fan of cumin in anything, and loving creamier, nutty tea (usually) you’d think I’d be in the “this is one of my favorite teas!” group. Yet, I’m more of a fence sitter, especially on this one.

Before I turn this into a blog post (which, BTW, seriously considering doing something along the lines of “Tea Travels,” or, “Tea Traveler,” due to the sheer number of folks asking me to blog about my travel adventures) I’ll just say this: I get why they’ve called it Patisserie, it does smell like an almond macaron, or really any French bakery that makes anything with almonds in it, but there’s something bitter in here (and I think it’s the base tea) that’s turning me sour. It’s also awfully drying, which I just plain dislike in most teas.

Dropping the rating a bit, I think it’s well deserved.

Had this two nights ago, and I remember thinking, “Hm, this is just okay — for having paid shipping from Australia”. Which is kinda funny, because I read somewhere that T2 now has a store open in London… sigh. Shoulda woulda coulda. Next time!

I’m fighting off something, and while I know I’ll be fine, I’m using tea to catch it before it turns into anything, as I’ve got a whack of work to do in the next 24hours or so. So, I’m drinking this. Really, it just tastes like flavored hay at this point, but that doesn’t bother me one bit. The chai next to it, I’m enjoying. This? Meant to infuse my body with goodness.

Oversteeped it just a touch, but I think this is a lovely tea nonetheless. Rich, a tiny bit sweet, some smoke that isn’t lapsang souchong -y, more like smoked salmon or something along those lines. Smoked chestnuts? There’s a lot of complex layers to this one, and I’m loving all of them in different ways.
