Brewed up at 3 minutes, and is much better. Still not terribly impressed with it, but it’s caffeinated, and at this point, I really need that.

drank Kashmiri Chai by Tavalon Tea

Okay, having this again, following a pot of elderberry tea so as not to be biased by another chai.

It’s…not all that amazing. The spices are okay, but there’s not much tea taste to it. I’ve definitely had better chais (LiberTEAS’s masterpiece being one of them).

Now that the fall season has officially arrived, it seems that I can’t get enough of the seasonal teas. Having a pot of this while reading and contemplating a nap. This time around, there’s more spice than apple, and it’s just as yummy this way.

This is, perhaps, the most chocolatey tea that I’ve tried. It’s rich, and thick, with just the slightest hint of ginger that isn’t strong on taste, but instead tickles the tongue and back of the throat and warms you up. You can taste the red rooibos, but it’s more of a side note/supporter of the chocolate.

I will be getting another tin before this season is gone…I already know I wouldn’t want to go a whole year without it. If you like the Year of the Tiger tea, you must try this; the chocolate is even stronger. Yum!!

Yipee! I was hoping for a great review from you on this one! Hope to hit WM next week.

It’s fantastic!! Thanks so much for telling me about these, otherwise I would have totally missed them and that would have been a tragedy. You’ll love this one, I know it!!

amandajo sent me this to try…thanks!

It’s a very smooth green tea, with a strong smell of jasmine. The taste isn’t as strong as the smell (which is a very good thing). Definitely one of the better jasmine teas that I’ve had!!

drank Duchess Grey Tea by Trader Joe's

I am always on the search for that perfect blend. The perfect breakfast blend (it’s LiberTEAS, in case you’re still looking), the perfect chamomile (an ongoing search), and the perfect Earl Grey-type blend.

teabird very kindly sent this to me. I’ve no Trader Joe’s around here, and loved the thought of orange with the bergamot.

The flavors do translate as “lemon” once they hit your tongue. It’s smooth, and has just the right amount of scent to let you know that, yes, it’s a member of the Earl Grey family, even though it’s the result of a rendevous with some scandalous lemony fiend, and the elders of the family put it in little bags and sent it off on its way.

If you can’t tell, I’m very impressed with it, and think that this would be a fantastic tea to keep on hand at the office, or to have tucked into my purse while on the road. I’ll have to find my nearest Trader Joe’s and plan a trek to pick some up…yes, I think it’s that good.

Ooh, sounds like a good Earl. I’ll have to look for this at the trader Joe’s near me. I’d love to have a scandalous fiend of a lemon Earl in my cupboard!

These are my favorite discoveries here on Steepster; hidden gems sitting right out on the grocery shelf. I was surprised by the high marks a tea at Target has been getting and now TJ’s.

I love the smell of the bags (all maply syrup and pecan), but the smell of the brewed tea has a slight burnt taste to it, which reminds me of Stash’s decaf caramel creme that I could never enjoy.

The taste, though, is really nice. The black tea in this one is much stronger than the Pumpkin Ginger. There’s a definite pecan taste, and the sip finishes with strong, thick, maple notes. There’s a hint of caramel there, but it’s rather fleeting and I’m not sure if I’m imagining it or not. I don’t think I’ll try this one at 5 minutes; I think it could easily turn bitter.

Bio

My love of tea started in 2001, whilst in an internship in London, England. I shared an office with a lovely man who would make me a cup of tea every morning without asking me if I even wanted it. I drink my tea neat now, because I’ve yet to find the sugar/milk combination that lives up to Pablo’s.

I drink any and all kinds of tea, and love trying new brands/varieties/flavors.
