1299 Tasting Notes
I ordered a few single-serving samples from Tealula and this was one of the teas I chose. The dry leaf smells good and quite strong.
I added a little bit of honey which enhanced the flavors of this tea. The rose in the tea is so strong it’s like an extract and the almond is slightly softer but still not necessarily what I would think of as marzipan as it also resembles almond extract more than marzipan. It’s a tasty flavor combination and I could see this being a really nice high tea choice to serve. I actually really like how strong the rose is in this one. It’s definitely different than other almond or rose teas I’ve tried.
Flavors: Almond, Rose
Preparation
This was a free sample that was sent to me by the company.
I prepared this using a bamboo matcha whisk but forgot to sift the matcha before adding it to the bowl. The matcha was still easy to whisk and my cup was clump free. The matcha didn’t froth up at all with this prep method. The aftertaste was a tad chalky. Some matches I enjoy drinking without milk but this particular one was a bit too strong for me just on it’s own. I enjoyed it with the almond milk and still have another sample packet to prepare a different way and try.
