94 Tasting Notes
Another awesome tea from the NM Tea Co. I have had other floral Earl Greys where the flower would overwhelm the bergamot, but this tea has a good balance. The rosemary is a nice touch. The tea is a touch bitter, I wish I hadn’t steeped it so long, 3 minutes would probably be better.
I love the smell of this tea too, it’s like having a cup of Earl Grey in a flower garden.
Preparation
A nice spicy tea. Hoping it helps me catch some nice rainbow trout, today is opening day in CT.
Good with milk and honey.
Preparation
I was looking for a tea to help me cope until fall when David’s Tea has their pumpkin chai again and I think I found one. Actually this tea ties with David’s Tea Pumpkin chai. It is not as spicy as the pumpkin chai I love, but it is even more pumpkiny. I never thought a tea could be more pumpkin than David’s Tea Pumpkin chai. I am putting this tea on a shelf next to the Pumpkin Chai and playing romantic music hoping the two will reproduce.
This tea tastes like someone liquified and heated the inside of a pumpkin pie. This tea is so good. I had it with a little milk and brown sugar. The only way I can think to make this better would be to top it with whipped cream which I do not have right now.
For some reason the tea smells like green pumpkin vines.
Butiki Teas: I hope you keep this tea available year-round!
Preparation
Well this is interesting. Earlier I had a chai that was mostly a good base lacking spices, now I have spices lacking a base. I think Chai Amazonia and Pure Chai were meant to be blended together. I will have to try that later.
First time trying guayusa, also first time trying a tea with stevia in it. I added milk but no sweeteners, figuring the stevia would sweeten the tea and it did. Though I think a little honey would have helped make the tea thicker, it is rather thin. I think it’s mental after seeing how green and herbal the tea is, but I keep tasting hints of mint. I do not think there is any mint in this tea.
Preparation
Still working my way through the Chai Collection. Had this as I usually have my chai, with milk and a little honey.
It’s… well, boring, for a chai. This is the kind of chai my mother would like. If you think chais are too spicy you’ll like this one.
I like my chais more complicated with lots of spice and flavors. This is just black tea with cinnamon, clove and nutmeg, I taste cinnamon and a hint of clove. It’s not a bad tea but a dull chai. Think I’ll mix in some cardamom pods and some other spices next time or maybe use it as a base for my Sunday night chocolate chai by adding vanilla and some cocoa.
Preparation
While I was ordering some of the pumpkin creme brulee my curiosity got the better of me and I ordered some of this tea too. I think this is the most unusual tea I have.
When I opened the bag (cute bags too, btw) I was at first startled by what I thought was some kind of white slug clinging to the inside of the bag just about above the tea. It took me a couple minutes before I realized it was just a piece of pineapple. I felt pretty stupid. Apart from the pineapple pieces being mistaken for slugs by my nearsighted self this tea is very attractive looking; vivid green leaves, little bright pink flowers.
The taste is pretty good, I am not usually a big fan of pineapple but it had a nice taste without that strange mouthfeel eating pineapple or drinking pineapple juice gives me. I did not really notice any creaminess or the cilantro.
Preparation
Nice to see that I’m not the only one enjoying this tea. It perks my spirits up a little after hearing about what happened in Boston. :(
I recently splurged on 4 ounces of this tea because I love it so much. It’s the perfect blend of black and green, mint and bergamot. Currently keeping it in the bag it came in but am thinking about getting some of those Adagio 4 oz tins.
I no longer add sugar to this tea, just steep it for 2 minutes in 160 degree water and it’s good to go. Thinking it will taste good iced in the summer. I am also beginning to wonder how this tea will taste with a little milk. But it’s so good on its own I do not want to risk spoiling it.
I also still really love the smell of this tea and think it would make a great scent for a body wash.
Preparation
A pretty basic chai. I thought it seemed a little weak but I have been experimenting with a new mug and having trouble with getting a tea strainer that will fit in it (this new mug has a 3.5" diameter, too wide for my normal tea strainer) I actually used the infuser from my teapot and I think the infuser resting on the bottom of the cup kept gravity from making this tea as strong as I would like it.
I did not notice anything unusual about this chai, maybe more cinnamon taste than most chais I have had.
Preparation
Wow I really like this one. Has just enough coconut, not overwhelming, you can taste it. And lots of spicyness. It’s just what a chai should be. Also it’s caffeine free so I can drink it whenever I want and not worry about it keeping me up all night.
I like it with milk, honey if I want it sweeter.
