53 Tasting Notes
I’m always a big fan of vanilla rooibos. This one is creamy and mellow, maybe a touch of smoke in there. And since I got it at Pike Place, drinking this always brings me back there. :) I’ll probably be resteeping a couple times on this wet cloudy night after all this springtime storming.
I splurged a little on my first 52teas purchase. I have been drooling over his creations for a couple of years now and they are better than I could have imagined! This one tastes and smells exactly like pina colada. Sweet yet creamy. The flavor isn’t overpowering and blends with the honeybush very well. I resteeped the crap out of it in my infuser thermos at work and the flavor just never dies!
Preparation
I’m not sure what to think of this yet. The smell of it is so strong that my clothes even smelled like it after the car ride home. It was quite pleasant at first, but then it just got stuck in my nose to the point that it’s sickening.
The tea itself isn’t bad at all, really. It’s very sweet, and the pear and honey flavors are very prominent, even in the resteep. I think it will end up being one of those teas I pull out when I need something interesting.
I finally made it back to Missoula to replenish my tea stash, and I picked up a sample of this at Butterfly Herbs. Everything I’ve tried from this company I’ve loved.
It must be the carob that gives this the mocha flavor and aroma. There are lots of chocolatey overtones as well. I feel like I should be getting the coffee jitters, but there’s no caffeine (or the bitterness coffee has, ew)! The hazelnut is there, but very subtle.
If you like mocha, you’ll love this. Even better than mocha in my opinion!
