drank Vanilla Comoro by Harney & Sons

Yes. YES. I had been looking for a legitimately clean tasting smooth creamy vanilla taste and THIS DELIVERS! This is pure bliss – it’s so milky and creamy tasting even without milk or cream added. Deliciously sweet just like a vanilla milkshake.

This is just all sorts of amazing.

Thank you so much VariaTEA for letting me sample this!

I woke up with swollen eyes this morning. Maybe I’m allergic to something :( Kinda odd though.

Glad you liked it. Sorry to hear about your eyes though.

Yvonne

That’s ok! Just gotta figure out why it’s happening :/

TheTeaFairy

Glad you found you’re perfect vanilla tea!
Hope your eyes get better…

Yvonne

Thank you :)
Hehe, me too! And it wouldn’t be possible without VariaTEA!

drank S'mores by Della Terra Teas

How in the world do they do it?

How is it that a tea can taste just like a toasty marshmallow with chocolate, stuffed between two crumbly graham cracker squares?

Believe it or not, Della Terra’s done it again. And it is just divine on all levels. I was craving a chocolate tea and decided to go with this one – I am not disappointed at all. Not one bit. Man I love this company.

I’m just starting to delve into the interestingness that is Della Terra! This sounds really good. Maybe I’ll snag a sample in my next order. :)

Yvonne

Oh, definitely do! It’s incredible!

drank Lemon Chiffon by Della Terra Teas
97 tasting notes

This one comes my way of the dear VariaTEA. :) Thank you so much! You are just beyond awesome :)

Hoo boy, is this lemon. Like lemony lemon lemon. With quite a bit of sweet, like sucking on a lemon candy or eating lemon cake. Actually, more so the latter than the former. This tea definitely lives up to it’s name! I’m not the biggest fan of lemon cake – so right now, I have instant bias. This wouldn’t be the first thing I reach for in my drawer, but if I ever want lemon I know where to go.

drank Love Tea #7 by DAVIDsTEA
97 tasting notes

I am just all kinds of stressed right now, so I needed something soothing to calm myself and my stomach. I couldn’t really decide on anything until I got to good old Love Tea #7.

I just adore the chocolate strawberry combination in this one – it’s the best I’ve come across so far. You can taste the chocolate and it compliments the fruitiness of the strawberry. Just like drinking a chocolate-dipped strawberry. And I have no qualms about that. :)

Yvonne

Thank you ♥ I’ll get through it somehow.

cryptickoi

Yvonne

cryptickoi

does shu cha calm you?

Yvonne

I don’t believe I’ve ever had it!

cryptickoi

ripe puer(shu cha)tends to have a calming effect for most people and it’s good for a bad tummy too…

cryptickoi

btw…I’m sorry to hear you’re stressed…

Yvonne

That’s ok – it’s nobodys fault but my own :) Just going through really tough times, that’s all.
Oh, I should get some somehow! I’ll be on the lookout for some…hopefully I’ll have money when I find some.

cryptickoi

JustJames

Yvonne

TheTeaFairy

Yvonne

Oh, it did! Thank you :) You have all been wonderful – I couldn’t ask to be with better people on a better site!

TheTeaFairy

drank Apple Cinnamon by Tim Hortons
97 tasting notes

Had this at Tim Hortons today and actually went and took home a box! For $3.50, it seemed like a bit of a steal. I can’t believe how much I like this tea – it tastes like a spicy apple cider. Perfect for when I’m in an appley sort of mood.

I just…I don’t even know what to say, actually. I’m surprised! Thought this would be risky.

You never know! Some bagged teas are quite good!

keychange

Oh yeah, definitely keep an open mind. You never know when you’ll fall in love with the most unexpected of teas.

Yvonne

Oh, I don’t have any bias against bagged teas – there are some out there I quite like! Just didn’t think it would be anything from Tim Hortons, much less anything herbal!

TeaLady441

Haha. Fair enough! I really like their steeped tea, even though it’s mostly just sugar/milk. :P

drank Berry Good (Organic) by DAVIDsTEA

I’m not too too big on berry flavoured teas…never have been, probably never will be. But I rather like this. The hibiscus turns me off slightly, grant you that, but here it seems to be more tolerable. The tea is tart and sweet like a strawberry – not like a jam, but actually….kinda like biting into one in a way. Makes me want real strawberries actually :P

Now I need to try this. It’s bad enough I want to go to Davids for Mint To Be.

mewakeling

I love this tea and I am not a pu-erh fan whatsoever. I agree, it is like a ripe berry taste and, for once, I find the earthiness of the base helps the flavours, as opposed to being something I try to block out.

This sample was given to me by the incredibly lovely Missb! Thank you so much, it really means a lot to me :)

I can honestly say I’ve never had Baileys before. I’m just not an alcohol person. I do know what Irish cream tastes like however and I do seem to be getting it slightly in this tea. Unfortunately the tea falls flat however…I’m not getting any mint at all. I’m not really getting much of anything, actually – just the faint Irish cream taste and a little bit of sweet from the Stevia I added.

I had this at a local cafe today with my mother and this was absolutely DEEEELICIOUS. What a wonderful orange taste! It smelled a little like orange dish soap, though – but tasty none the less.

I wish I would’ve resteeped this, but didn’t have the time. :( But it was wonderful while it lasted and something I’d definitely order again.

Ho-oly CRAP. How is this tea so incredible? It LITERALLY tastes like biting into an fresh cinnamon bun. It is absolutely uncanny. I’m even getting the sweet icing glaze taste on my lips afterward. I am in so much taste bliss right now I can’t stand it. Della Terra, you are magic. There’s no other explanation.

I am going to cry when I run out of this sample.

drank Mudslide Rooibos Tea by Teavana
97 tasting notes

Thank you so much VariaTEA for this amazing sample! Couldn’t have tasted it without you :)

This is an odd one! As the tea cools down I’m starting to get a little peep of the banana, but I’m mostly getting an odd chocolatey but not quite chocolatey flavour that I can’t really pinpoint. I’m getting more and more of a Jello banana pudding vibe as it cools down further. This is quite good, but I don’t think I’d personally seek it.

Profile

Bio

My name is Yvonne. I’m 21 and live in a snowy Canadian wasteland known as Manitoba.

I’m relatively new to the loose tea world, although I used to drink generic Red Rose tea constantly. A friend introduced me to a Teavana tea one chilly winter and I got myself slightly intrigued. Went to purchase it myself, used shoddy equipment to prepare it, and was discouraged.

Christmas 2013 rolled around, and despite having an awful holiday for other reasons, I received some of Teavana’s Cha Yen Thai as a gift after asking for chai tea. I went out and bought a proper infuser cup and was instantly hooked. Now my tea collection is steadily growing! I’m obsessed!

I like:
Dessert teas, black teas, oolong, rooibos, pu’erh, mate, chai, chamomile, chocolate, coconut, cinnamon, pineapple, tropical mixes, nutty, sweet, complex flavours, indulgent flavours

I do NOT like:
Green teas, herbal teas, white teas, teas too overbearing with fruit, pure tisane, cloyingly sweet teas, hibiscus, peanuts, burning my mouth

I am lactose intolerant (pretty severely, actually – I do not consume any dairy product) but I find that the miniscule amounts of dairy found in some teas don’t bother me for the most part.

100 – My absolute favourite teas. Without them, I will cry salty tears of despair.

99 – 95 – Cream of the crop, although missing SOMETHING to make them a perfect favourite. Not something I couldn’t possibly live without, but pretty darn close. Lots of teas in this category tend to reach 100 eventually.

95 – 75 – Yummy, but if it disappeared tomorrow I’d quietly mourn it for about 15 minutes and move on to a favourite. Leaves something to be desired.

75 – 50 – Passable, but not by much. Something I’d really have to be in the mood for to drink.

50 and lower – Nope nope nope. Not for me. Probably couldn’t or had a hard time finishing the cuppa. Doooown the sink.
