Oh Golden Snail, how much I love thee. This has grown to become one of my favorite black teas, hands down. Maybe not the smartest choice for a midnight cuppa, but in this case my strong craving trumped all logic. Tragically, what I have in my cup right now is the last of it :( Rather than order more of the pure Yummy Golden Goodness, I’ve just placed an order from Whispering Pines for the Earl Gold and the El Dorado Chai, which both use my dear heart as a base. I’m waiting impatiently for my order to come so I can witness firsthand how well my love plays with others ;)

I need a sweet yet guilt-free afternoon pick-me-up, so I reached for this since I’ve been meaning to try it. It’s very comforting! A warm, sweet and slightly spicy flavor. And, the taste of pumpkin is even coming through :D , but it’s still a great blend that I plan to keep around this season.

drank Pumpkin Maté by DAVIDsTEA
73 tasting notes

My favorite time of year is approaching, and along with it the arrival (or return) of pumpkin everything. I finally paid a visit to David’s two days ago to snap up their pumpkin teas gift set, which includes the pumpkin maté, the pumpkin chai, and the spiced pumpkin. One of the employees did warn me that many people are surprised by how savory this tea is….there is a hint of pumpkin flavor, but it’s well-blended with earthy maté flavor and spices. I’m glad I knew that before trying my first cup of this. It was warm, toasty, and delightful!

If you’re looking for a pumpkin tea that’s on the sweeter, more dessert-y side, this isn’t it – but this one is still worth trying.

This is one of my favorite fruit teas. There are a lot of ingredients in this blend, but somehow it all just works. I haven’t sipped this one in a long time, and I can’t for the life of me figure out why! It’ll be time to pop in to TeaGschwendner soon and nab some more :)

drank Café Maté by TeaLula

This tea has that warm, roasted, slightly chocolatey flavor that’s perfect for warming you up when you’re sitting under an AC vent for several hours at a time. One of the top roasted maté blends I’ve had! I’m really impressed with my recent haul from TeaLula so far.

Hmm. Jury’s still out on this one, as I’m not really tasting anything. I’m only getting a hint of sweetness, which may or may not be from the bit of rock sugar that I added.

This was actually quite yummy! Adagio blends can be hit or miss for me….but this one has warm hints of spice without being too spicy. I may steep it a tad bit longer next time just to see what happens. I can imagine Bilbo serving this for second breakfast at Bag End :)

drank Nutty Almond Cream by Tiesta Tea

I am a huge fan of almond – by itself or in pretty much anything. I tried this tea for the first time last night (iced), and it was excellent! The sweet, nutty taste really came through – it reminded me of cotton candy!

This tea is amazing. It tastes like piña colada with some added tartness from the hibiscus flowers and rose hips, and it’s extremely refreshing iced. I brewed a pitcher of this for my coworkers, and it was a hit!

Profile

Bio

If you count the bagged stuff, I’ve been a tea drinker for a long time. I first discovered the joys of loose leaf on a trip to London in 2014, and it’s all been downhill from there. I’m still in the phase where I want to try everything, and I’m still developing my tea personality.

Types of tea / tisanes I gravitate toward: black, green oolong, Japanese green, flavored teas (sweet, floral, fruity, minty, complex, you name it), rooibos, roasted mate, and many herbal and fruit combos.

Teas I need to try, try again, or keep trying: white, pu erh, dark oolong, pure Chinese green, mate

I’ll update soon with my rating system!
