Enjoying a cup of this while working on a biology lab report and waiting for a freshly baked loaf of Guinness bread to cool. This tea continues to be one of my absolute favorites! Lately though, I’ve been noticing that most of the cups of tea I make for myself have been just a tad too sweet, even though I almost always use the same amount of sugar. Could this mean that I’m on my way to becoming one of those people who don’t like to sweeten their tea?!? I truly never thought I’d see the day. Maybe I’ll try honey with this one next time I drink it.

drank Ginger Beer by DAVIDsTEA

I am a huge fan of ginger beer and ginger flavor in general, so I love this tea. Yesterday, I put some into my Teavana travel tumbler and let it steep for the entirety of my ~30 min commute to school. By the time I got to class, my tea was perfectly spicy with strong ginger flavor. If this were made as a tea pop, I could see it tasting almost exactly like ginger beer!

If you’re not a fan of such a strong ginger flavor, I would recommend steeping this tea for only a few minutes – this allows some of the other flavors to shine alongside the ginger.

One of my dear friends just brought a box of these back for me from her trip to the Philippines! I’ve been wanting to try TWG for a while, so I’m quite happy.

This is a satisfying tea, mild on the green tea flavor with a light touch of both fruit and vanilla. Usually with light green teas that include vanilla, the latter is hard for me to taste (especially if I steep for two minutes or less to prevent the green tea from getting bitter). I’m glad to say that this one is an exception. I may try to steep an extra 30 seconds next time, to get an even stronger flavor.

I find this tea incredibly nuanced. It’s still one of my favorite fruit teas, for its tendency to taste so fruity while not overpowering my palate with tartness. Out of this cup, I’m getting sweet and minty notes just underneath the fruit – delightful! Definitely a tea worthy of any Harry Potter character :)

I have a long night of paperwork and homework ahead of me, and this tea is the perfect companion for that – soothing and calming, yet brisk and energizing! This way, my stress levels are kept at bay but I still have enough energy to forge ahead. Thank you, Jabberwocky, for coming through when I needed you the most!

Enjoying a cup of this now after a long morning of training – just as bold as ever! With cream added, it’s heavenly. So far, I’d say this is my favorite find from Todd & Holland, although I definitely need to make another trip soon so I can acquire some new varieties!

This. This……is already one of my favorite teas. I love a good Earl Grey, and I’ve tasted many different brands. Until my Whispering Pines order came the other day, I thought I had come close to tasting it all. You know that feeling you get when you come across something that fills a hole in your life that you never even noticed was there before? For me, that is Earl Gold.

Whispering Pines’ Golden Snail is already one of my absolute favorite teas, so I was beyond excited to try an Earl Grey with it as the base. I was curious to see how the unique chocolately flavor of this tea pairs with bergamot, and the result is delicious. The amount of bergamot in this is perfect: although it’s prominent in the scent of the dry leaf (making me wish I could turn this tea into a candle), it’s well-balanced in the brewed cup – not too light, but not so heavy that it masks that Golden Snail yumminess.

They’re already sold out of this online, but I will be ordering more as SOON as I can.

This is my go-to bagged tea for busy mornings at work. I add plenty of sugar and some cream to this, and I love the malty taste. Besides, it’s one of the only teas in my arsenal that can truly make me feel ‘awake’ despite the fact that I’m not a morning person.

drank Dosha Chai Rooibos by Teavana
73 tasting notes

Just drank this tea last night to warm up after traipsing around for a while without proper outerwear. Although I’m beginning to favor stronger, spicier chais that go well with milk, I still like the mild and comforting sweetness of this one – it makes a good before-bed tea.

I ran out of this tea a while ago, and haven’t been able to go back to Todd & Holland and get more until yesterday. I’ve missed my tradition of drinking this tea on Sunday mornings! So glad to have it back, and it tastes just as great as I remember :) Still one of the best vanilla black tea I’ve had.

Bio

If you count the bagged stuff, I’ve been a tea drinker for a long time. I first discovered the joys of loose leaf on a trip to London in 2014, and it’s all been downhill from there. I’m still in the phase where I want to try everything, and I’m still developing my tea personality.

Types of tea / tisanes I gravitate toward: black, green oolong, Japanese green, flavored teas (sweet, floral, fruity, minty, complex, you name it), rooibos, roasted mate, and many herbal and fruit combos.

Teas I need to try, try again, or keep trying: white, pu erh, dark oolong, pure Chinese green, mate

I’ll update soon with my rating system!
