421 Tasting Notes
Wow if the 1910 English Breakfast eases you into your day this tea will roundhouse kick you in the face to get your day going! I mean that is the best way possible too! It’s a very strong blend of teas that is very rich and full bodied. A good strong cup of get up and go! So go get up and get some.
I started my first real day of my vacation this morning with this tea. I’ve had English Breakfast many times before but this was good, really good! A nice blend of three different teas. I have to tell you I did add a touch of soy milk and a cube of suger to this cup and it did play well with the tea. It was a nice gentle ease into my day at the beach.
Eh…I really wanted tea this afternoon at work and this was all we had. I was poorly prepared for tea drinking at work today because I forgot my usual travel bag o’tea.
On to the tea…It isn’t bad, but it isn’t great either. Odd thing is it smells like cranberries, but tastes like a green tea a very light green tea….weird.
Preparation
AmazonV was good enough to share some of this with me…thank you! I’ve been hitting the coffee every day this week. The reason being I’ve been staying up late at night prepping for vacation and general goofing around. Anyway, I had to remind myself why I stopped drinking coffee and opted to bring this to work with me instead.
Now we don’t have a proper kettle or anything like it here in the office. Just a water cooler with HOT water spout and a Keurig. So I worked with what I had with the hot water spout thing. I have to say it didn’t turn out too bad! I loved the little nest shape with the rose pressed into the bottom of the nest. This pu-erh smelled like others I have tried – earthy. But I love that about pu-erh. However, I can taste something extra as I sip this tea in my very quiet office..which I assume must be the rose. All in all it is a really nice tea and being a pu-erh I’ll get at least three more steeps out of it this morning. Why was I drinking coffee again?
Preparation
Fantastic! I was lucky enough to get a hold of this when Tony was closing up his shop. I am so glad I did! This has some serious flavor. My first cup was straight up pu-erh. But so far infusions two and three have had a hint of the orange flavoring from the bit of peel I added in while steeping. So good!
I wrote a longer post about it here: http://wifeywoman.teatra.de/2012/06/11/say-goodbye/ :)
It was as if David and Co. over at Verdant were reading my mind when I placed my last order for Sun Dried Jingshan…because I almost ordered some of this too. I’d tried and LOVED the Autumn picked variety so I was really curious to compare the two. Well, guess which sample turned up in my order!!??
This one is also fantastic! Very light and refreshing, the perfect tea to end my evening with. I’m loving the buttery/creamy flavor too. Clearly you can’t go wrong picking up either fall or spring oolong. I fear another order may be placed a little too soon! The bigger problem would be trying to hid it from my husband. ;)
Kicking my day off with this tea as it says it is a strong blend. Let me tell you I NEED that this morning. We had to leave the house much earlier than usual…twenty minutes to be exact. Twenty precious minutes where I could have been sleeping. ;) So this tea is needed this morning! It smells bold and rich. First sip offered a nice kick to the system and my taste buds. This certainly is a hearty tea even if Princess is in the name. I like it.
Preparation
I enjoyed this tea earlier this afternoon at The Tailored Tea with a good friend. It is a favorite. I love that there is no need to add anything to it. The cinnamon adds the right amount of sweetness to the tea. All around a great cup of tea! I probably should not have had a half a pot of it to myself! Sometimes you can have too much of a good thing. ;)
I was thrilled to find my order from The Devotea’s US distribution office had been delivered when I arrived home. I did not have one of my better days at work today. Long story short I knew what person x was trying to say even though he thought I didn’t. So the arrival of this tea was amazing timing. Right now to the tea…
I used my tea for one set that I painted at one of those paint your own pottery places a few months back and I swore then I would only use it for these teas…well I kept my word! The dry leaf smelled of Golden Yunnan (a favorite) and of something else perhaps Keemun? I’m not sure after all there are 7 different types of tea in this blend..YES SEVEN! What I can tell you is that they are amazing together.
My husband said it was bitter, but he thinks all tea is either bitter or flavored water. While I on the other hand noted malty and robust goodness in each and ever sip. On the pouch there is a note that this tea is perfect for high tea and late afternoon tea…this could easily be an anytime tea! I am very happy I purchased this blend.
