So I thought Harney and Sons Earl Grey Supreme was on point, but this stuff rocked my world!!!

I received a shipment from H&S this week and this tea was included as part of my shipment. After being such a fan of the Earl Grey Supreme, I didn’t think it could get much better…boy was i wrong…the Viennese Earl Grey is simply FANTASTIC!

This tea is smooth, smooth, smooth! I must give credit where credit is due and the Darjeeling is definitely a major factor here, smoothing this tea out nicely. The bergmont is just right…pretty powerful when smelling it out of the tin, but just right in the tea. In my opinion the bergmont in a good Earl Grey should just be enough to wake the senses up a bit allowing you to enjoy the base and this tea hits the mark in that regard.

Overall, a nice smooth Earl Grey with a rich flavorful base, finished with th perfect touch of bergmont.

Another nice tea from Harney and Sons!!!
The leaf sets are nice and complete and have a bit of fuziness on them. The color (very light yellow), flavor (mild w/ some slight sweetness), and aroma (light earthy mildly sweet smell) of this tea are very similar to a white tea, but the tea does have some vegetal notes characteristic of green tea. Along with the chatacteristics mentioned, this tea has some other unique flavors present that I’m still trying to figure out.

Of note, I prepared this tea using the instruction on H&S website which state 4 min. at boiling, the H&S Tea Store notes below indicate 3.25 min at 175° seems to be a descrepancy here?

I have to agree with a couple of the other here. While my wife enjoys this tea, I find it barely drinkable. I have made this tea about 10 times and have played with infusion times and the amount of tea used. Despite my efforts the tea always comes out the same….overly bitter and WAY to perfumey for my tastes. I have tasted much better Jasmine teas.

Hi! If you haven’t adjusted the temperature of the water you’re using, I find that makes a huge difference with floral and fruity teas! I would try heating the water to a lower temperature and steeping it a shorter time! I hope that works, good luck!

This is a nice tea to jump start your day with. The boldness of the Assam is smoothed out by the Keemun. The Assam gives the tea a bit maltiness while the Keemun gives a bit of smokiness. This is tea is great on its own without the need for additives. Definitely one of the better breakfast blends I have tried. I often switch between this and Harney and Sons Earl Grey Supreme for my morning brew.

Overall, a nice Genmaicha.

This blend provides a good balance of vegetaliness from the bancha and toastiness from the roasted brown rice.

A nice daily drinker, the flavors are present, however, they are as deep or as exciting as they are with other Genmaicha variations, particularly those that use Sencha.

Pairs well with sushi!
