The re-steeping of this just made it a bit weaker. Hmmm…

Wow…what a unique flavor! It DEFINITELY reminds me of the mountains. The smell of the dry stuff is very off putting…I was wondering what I got myself into.

After steeping it (at a much lower temperature then an herbal needs-I only have a coffee pot, don’t judge! LOL) I get an overwhelming taste of minty-ness…with an accompaniment of berry. I’ve never had juniper berries before or raspberry leaves. I can barely tell there’s any apple at all…if it’s there it’s VERY subtle. I feel like it cleans my palate…refreshing like. I wouldn’t mind drinking this again…I wouldn’t say it’s a favorite of mine…but maybe once I re-steep it or try more varieties of teas I’ll be able to come back to this one and say I like it better then all those others.

I’ve been wondering about this one. It seems like people either think it is totally amazing or just just “meh”.

I had to edit my post…I put in a little emoticon and it mucked up my review…oops! So now the whole thing is there, lol:) Fayebert…would you like to swap some?

Rich, bold, smooth flavor. I can’t stop drinking this stuff. It would pry taste amazing with a little sweetener but it stands great on it’s own!

Again, it was water straight from the coffee pot…I don’t have a thermometer yet…waiting for my DavidsTea order to get here:)

I took about a tsp and steeped it for about 5 minutes per the container instructions. I’m not getting a very strong flavor, it’s very light. It has a definite peach flavor at the end. Perhaps I’ll steep it longer next time.

drank Pure Rooibos by Twinings

It’s palatable enough. It has a pleasant smell when brewed…a little medicinal. Initially it tastes hay like but I’m getting a definite undertone of something medicinal. Something like cough syrup…underneath and definitely as an end note. I wanted to get the pure herb/plant by itself before I began acquiring other flavored rooibos teas so I knew what to expect from the rooibos. I wanted to get a couple more caffeine free teas that weren’t just for bedtime. Oh! I also drank this straight up…no sugars…I don’t like to add stuff to my tea to make it taste better.

I have both teas separately, not mixed (so I can mix them myself). I took two rounded teaspoons of each and steeped it for about 5 minutes. All I could really taste is the orange. It’s ok…nothing too spectacular. The second steeping was a bit weaker still tasted of oranges and a little of some kind of berry on the back side. A little bit astringent maybe at the end? Not amazing…as I wish it were but it’s better with more tea then with the recommended amounts Teavana gives you. I used water straight from my coffee maker pot (minus the coffee).

I received this sample with my recent storage tin purchase from Silver Tips Tea. I didn’t even know they sent samples with purchases, yay!

This is a really good tea (although I haven’t tried very many to compare). It has a rich, creamy taste to it…no bitterness at all when I think of black teas. Very little “dust” left in the cup (compared to my Teavana teas I have). It would pry taste even more amazing with honey or a little sugar. I don’t have a thermometer or fancy kettle to tell me the temperature at the moment so the water I use just comes straight from my “coffee” maker, lol.

Bio

I live in Boise, Idaho…home of the Boise State Broncos:) I’m a newbie to the tea scene and trying to get my hands on various kinds of tea to try them all. I enjoy reading, listening to music, and watching various television shows.
My current TV obsession is Parks and Recreation:-D I also love The Middle, Modern Family, Simpsons, The Neighbors, Vampire Diaries, and Game of Thrones.

My Steepster rating details ….

75-100 : Pretty awesome stuff, will pursue many a cup.

50-75 : Decent, will brew more in the future just not all the time

25-50 : Ehhh…Doesn’t really stand out, probably won’t pursue another cup unless I have to use up the supply.

1-25 : UGH! Won’t drink again. Enough said.

I seem to be a harsh critic when it comes to tea tasting it seems! A tea that has gotten rave reviews doesn’t seem to suit me. I just have to keep trying everything out there to find out what does! Thanks for all your insight Steepsters!
