I think my taste buds are a bit off today. While I really enjoyed this flavor, I kept getting an after taste of hotdogs. Obviously something weird is going on with me. Unless somebody is secretly putting hotdogs in my tea stash :( I also accidentally let this steep a minute longer than I had intended and I could taste some bitterness coming out, especially as it cooled. However, as I said, the tea itself was great.

I received this in one of my orders as a sample. I just knew it needed to be an iced tea to help combat this 100 degree weather. I also decided that it needed to be subjected to my first attempt at cold brewing. I have to say that my experiment was definitely a success! I’d been making my iced teas so far by brewing them hot, then icing them. This definitely brings out the subtle flavors more. As for the tea, I really like it. It’s not overpoweringly mango, the mango feels much more subtle, almost as if it’s enhancing the tea. Overall, I’m very happy with this.

I recently got a bunch of tea from Adagio using points I had saved up. I’m trying to get more into oolong so I figured trying Adagio’s couldn’t hurt. I made a cup of this and…didn’t drink it. I was preparing things to be mailed off, and cleaning. This poor cup sat on my headboard waiting for me to drink it. Now that I’ve rediscovered it, it’s a mild lukewarm temperature. This temperature definitely doesn’t seem to do this tea any justice. I’m getting a vague, general floral oolonginess. But nothing in particular. I’m assuming this tea is much tastier when made properly, so I apologize to the Wuyi Ensemble and withhold judgement

Well, the only other puerh I really have experience with is DAVIDSteas’ Chocolate Orange. It’s pretty strongly flavored where you don’t taste the puerh-ness as much. Well, this is obviously different. As soon as I opened the sample bag, I got a strong whiff of a familiar scent. This Honeysuckle Puerh smells like crawfish. While crawfish are delicious, I DO NOT want a tea that tastes like them. So I decided to try rinsing the leaves. I ran hot water through them for probably about ten seconds. Hopefully that was enough to bring out the honeysuckle and the non-fishy side of puerh (whatever that tastes like?)

Hmm. So I’m getting some of the crawfish flavor and some earthy flavors with some notes of nut. But what I’m definitely not getting is honeysuckle. I’m not experienced enough to know if I rinsed it too much (could I have rinsed the flavor out?), not enough, or if I need to add sweetner. I’ll need to experiment with this.

I was really excited for this tea. The dry leaves smell JUST like pina colada. Yet, once it was steeping, it started smelling like fruit punch. It tastes a bit like apple juice, with just a hint of the coconuty, pineappley goodness I was anticipating. This tea does taste good, but it isn’t pina colada flavor. Fusion Tea, if you made another version of this without the apple and hibiscus, I feel like it would be exactly what I want. I would buy buckets of that stuff. Pretty please make it?

I only have a little of this left, and no tea budget to buy more with! :(
I noticed today that this had a kinda weird smell when dry. I’m not sure if it smelled like that last time I made this. However, it still tasted just as delicious as last time! One thing I’ve noticed to watch out for is that this one shouldn’t be allowed to cool very much. It wasn’t astringent at all when hot, but as it cooled, the astringency came out and got stronger and stronger.

Drank this last night. I really didn’t taste much flavor at all. I’m not sure what I did wrong, but next time I will try spicing it up with some of my peppermint, to see where that goes.

I’ve been really scared to try this. Back when I first got into tea, I had some bad experiences with green teas and jasmine greens in particular. I’m sure it was mostly due to my lack of brewing knowledge, but it still made me shy away from green teas. But for some reason, I saw this today and just really wanted to try it. I’m definitely happy I did.

I’m used to overly floral, intense jasmine teas. Some people may like those, but they just give me headaches. This is not overly strong, in smell or taste. It smells great. I was tempted to not even drink it and just smell it instead.

I wish I could thank this tea for giving me hope. It tastes so good that I want to try more green teas now! It was sweet, which I wasn’t expecting. Most green teas I’ve had have tasted kinda like burnt grass. The jasmine is light, not overpowering.

I’m not really sure what else to say about it, as I don’t know what to look for in green teas, but this is really great! If you’re looking to get into green teas, give this a try!

Mmm I’m liking this one a lot more this time. The rose scent seems a lot stronger than I remember. All the flavors seem stronger. I guess this one just needed a while to sit around and get awesome or something.

Wow, a month sense my last note! I’ve been drinking tea, but too busy to write anything.

Anyway, I thought I wrote a note about this a while back, but I don’t see it any more. :(

Well, I wasn’t very impressed when I first had this. I decided to make this iced today. Based on just the taste, I really like this. However, I KNOW that this is supposed to be oolong. I really can’t taste any tea in this. I wish this was just some sort of herbal tea. Then it could be cheaper and I would be happy with it. If that was the case, this would have a nice high rating. Unfortunately, it’s not holding up to what it claims to be. So it has to get a lower rating.

I will enjoy the rest of this as iced tea, but until it becomes an herbal blend, I doubt I will buy it again.
