I’ve been cold brewing everything, and this was one I had high hopes for, as I LOVE mint tea. This tuned out really well, I think I may like it better cold than hot.

Oooh, interesting! I should try this!

I forgot to log a bunch of teas, so here goes. Hopefully I won’t spam everyone’s dashboard with bunches of notes!

I made a pot of this with what was left of my sample and shared with my mom. I’m slowly bringing her over to the tea side. She really liked this one, and so do I. Once I get more tea money, this will be an order for sure! I look forward to trying other teas from Persimmon Tree and eventually cold brewing this one.

I accidentally let this one go to 7 minutes when I only meant to do 4 or 5. Steeped, this smelled like Candy Cane Lane. I’m guessing that was from the green tea/cinnamon combination (Candy Cane Lane has cinnamon, right?).
As for the flavor, I’m not sure how much my longer steep affected this. I’m not really getting much chocolate flavor, which is a disappointment considering the name. The flavors here are pretty light, but it seems like cinnamon is the main one.
I think I’ll try cold brewing this one to see how that goes. I’ve been on a cold brewing kick lately, now that I’ve finally learned how and given it a try.

drank Gingerbread Chai by 52teas
448 tasting notes

I’ve had this tea for a while, but I’ve never really properly tasted it. I received it as one of the iHeartTeas rescued teas.

I know the real proper way to do chai is with a stove, but I usually don’t have time or access to a stove, so oh well, I just have to do it my own way. I decided to try this in half water, half milk. Without sugar, the spices were waaaay to strong for me (I’m a spice wimp, sorry!). Sugar really brings out the flavors here though. I’ve actually never had gingerbread cookies, so I can’t say if this tastes like them or not. Whatever it tastes like, it has a good flavor. It seems a bit more spicy than your average chai, but not overwhelmingly so with sugar.

This sounds so yummy!

Emilie

Do you want to try it? I’d love to send you some! :D

tattooed_tea

That would be wonderful. If you’d like me to send you anything in return take a peek at my cupboard.

tattooed_tea

I just wanted to let you know I received this today. It will be my chai latte tomorrow morning!

I was very worried for how this tea would taste. In the bag and while steeping, it has a sickeningly sweet smell. I knew if it tasted like that, I wouldn’t be able to drink. Fortunately, it doesn’t taste like it smells. Unfortunately, it has a rather simple taste. This tea just seemed to have a general sweet taste to me. I would never get “toffee” from this on my own. It’s good enough if you just want something sweet, but you’ll be disappointed if you expect it to live up to the name.

Wow! I’ve only tried a few teas from Persimmon Tree, but they’ve all left very good impressions. They seem to have the flavoring of teas down to a science or something, because the flavored teas I’ve tried from them pull everything off so well. The tea flavor itself is there, mixing perfectly with whatever other flavor, neither overpowering the other.

Now on to this particular tea. I love love love the dry smell of this. It manages to make you feel like you’re actually eating coconut. It smells like real coconut, not the fake coconuty flavoring other things seem to have.

As for the taste, it seemed like the white tea itself was the main flavor, with the coconut creme accenting and adding to that. I can’t say much about the white tea, as I’m not too experienced with that, but I liked what I tasted. The coconut taste wasn’t too strong. It was just right. It added to the tea flavor and made the tea smooth and creamy tasting.

I only have a sample size, and I’m definitely buying more once this is gone.

Love this one! And also drank it tonight :)

Oolong Owl

wow, I need to buy the sample of this! Sounds good

Emilie

We had a tea connection going on, Kittenna! Haha.

Once I buy some more, I think it’ll be good iced too!

I received this as a sample. I was super excited to try it. And then I made it way too weak, I accidentally used it in a cup too big. BOO :(

Bonnie

I hate that! Did you rebrew?

Emilie

Nope :( I’m at my parents house and if I do, the noise from the kitchen will wake them up.

drank Irish Breakfast by Adagio Teas

I don’t know too much about unflavored black teas. Some day I want to have a little side by side taste test. But for now, this tea. I can’t pick out the individual flavors too well. It’s overall nice and smooth, but it didn’t stand out in any particular way. I think this would be good for me as a breakfast tea (big surprise there, eh?) when I’m not really going to be examining the flavors, but looking for something that tastes pleasant enough and has caffeine. Normally I like teas better without milk, but this one seems to benefit from the addition of just a bit.

I have a box of this saved up for special occasions when it is really needed. Well today is definitely one of them. I’m supposed to be teaching knitting classes at Michael’s, but I just found out that there haven’t been sign up sheets out since June. :( I’m also supposed to be hearing back from another job to see if I got hired, but I’m guessing I haven’t since nobody has called me. I have basically no income right now. On top of it all I’m sick and only seem to get more sick as the days go by. I think a nice soothing cup of tea is exactly what I need.

As for the tea itself, I’m not sure what more I can say that hasn’t already been said by one of the other many tasting notes here. The flavors all work wonderfully together. I do wish the mint was a bit stronger, but I’m the kind of person who can never have too much mint in her tea. This tea seems to be doing wonders for my sore throat as well. I can’t wait to stock up again this winter!

Sorry about all the ick—healthwise and otherwise.

drank Lady Grey by Twinings
448 tasting notes

I meant to have this with something such as yogurt for breakfast. Somehow, that yogurt became one of the brownies my mom made. Oops. At least Lady Grey and brownies go well together.
I think this particular batch of tea that I have is a little weak. No matter how I brew it, this loose leaf doesn’t get as tasty as the bagged version I have. It only vaguely has that fruit loops taste. Taste variances seems to be a problem with Twinings in general. Or maybe this batch is just old. At least it IS still tasty, just slightly less so. This tea does seem to be a little more delicate then most blacks when it comes to temp and steeping time too, so I’ll play with that more.

LOL good intentions anyway :)

There are eggs in brownies. Counts as breakfast.

Bio

I’ve lived in Hawaii, Mississippi, Colorado, Maryland, Texas, California, and Oklahoma. I’m just waiting to see where we end up next!

My preferences are towards black and oolong teas but I love trying new and/or weird teas! I’m finally learning to enjoy green tea.

We recently moved to about 6500 feet above sea level and I’m still trying to get the hang of the lower boiling point! Any tips would be appreciated :)

I really love swapping, so if anything in my cupboard catches your eye, please let me know!
