Delicious and straight forward peppermint tea. I’m not tasting the chocolate but I’m on my first steep so maybe on the second and for a little longer, I will taste it then. Regardless, it’s nice to end a night with this tea.

I’m not big on rose teas, but this one is fabulous. The rose flavor isn’t overpowering at all and the white tea base is very light and pleasant. I don’t get the creaminess from this as others do, but there is a slight sweetness. This tea is perfect on its own, so don’t dare try it with any additives.

drank Caramel Vanilla Assam by Butiki Teas

This is the only black tea I have tasted in a long time that I really enjoy. The caramel comes out and compliments the assam tea base very well. There is only a hint of sweetness, so I wouldn’t classify this tea as being a very sweet one but it’s not super strong either. This tea is very good as an afternoon tea.

Drinking this quickly while it’s hot is the way to go. I do love this tea but I wish it didn’t taste so watered down.. I will need to mess around with how much to measure out. Anyway I’m watching the Goodbye Matt Smith special and I don’t have any of 11 so the Ponds will make do.

It’s Christmas Eve and I’m trying to get into the Christmas mood with some Christmas Tradition. It’s a delicious light peppermint black tea. There’s a little bit of sweetness but I did add some sugar. I’m discovering that I prefer black teas with a little sugar unless it’s a chai black tea. This tea is ok, but I’m discovering that I really am more of a green tea person than black.

The base is really really good, but this confirms that I’m not into very sweet green teas. I don’t feel like this tea is right for me. It’s delicious but the vanilla almost kills it for me.

This tea is nothing special, and I don’t know why but it tastes powdery to me. I can barely taste the lavender, so this tea is very one note. I can’t write much about it because it’s pretty much like any other chamomile tea. I hate to say it, but I almost think that Tazo’s Calm is better than this. :(

Holy cow it tastes like potato pancakes and applesauce from this one Jewish German restaurant I love in San Francisco. Obviously not exactly the same, but really super close! I’m in love, this tea smells yummy and I can taste the cinnamon and apples. I’m sure if I added a little salt, the potato would come out more. I just added some sugar and the apple is coming out even more. I wish this tea wasn’t seasonal, I’d drink it year round! My one complaint is the packaging, I gave myself a paper cut on the bag trying to scoop the tea out. :(

Oh no, sorry about the paper cut! Just a little FYI, this tea is sold year round. :)

With all the holiday tea I have been drinking, it is really nice to drink a cup of something more earthy and natural. I really enjoy this tea, it’s very light, smooth and I can taste the veggie in this. It’s also not a fussy tea to brew which I love!

My first tea from Butiki! This tea tastes very floral but I can pick up a bit of licorice or a tad sour. I’m glad I ordered a sample because I’m not quite sure if the tea is for me. It’s delicious, but something about it doesn’t knock my socks off.

Profile

Bio

I became a tea addict after I decided to make some changes to my diet and cut out soda completely.

Teas I like
I love Japanese green teas but I can be a little snobby about them. When I was in Japan I stayed in an area known for sencha, so I can be pretty picky.

Companies I enjoy
I’ve had most experience with Lupicia because they’re very close to me. I enjoy their non flavored green teas and white teas the most. Their flavored teas are good, but it’s usually a hit or miss.
DavidsTea is a bit far but when I make trips to San Francisco I usually buy a bit. I like their herbal teas the most. Their other teas never wow me and have too much flavoring for me.
I like Adagio for their fan blends – I wish more companies did this! The tea isn’t the best quality but I do enjoy my initial steeps.
I found a store near me that sells Mariage Frères. They’re expensive but I don’t think I have had a more delicious cup of tea before.

Tibits about me
I returned to school several years ago and I am finally graduating in March 2014 so I’m really excited to finally be receiving my bachelor’s. I spend my evenings when I’m not studying watching cheesy scifi movies, playing video games, watching video game streams, or stalking the internet for tea. I have an adorable old man kitty who always wants whatever I’m drinking. When I can, I like to sew and knit while I marathon BBC shows or asian dramas.
