121 Tasting Notes
I think I screwed up the steep time on this because it’s more bitter than I remember. The bitterness when green tea was steeped too long or when steeped in water too hot. I did a second steep and it came out slightly better but something is up. Maybe it’s my burned tongue though.
I’m not picking up the plum flavor as much as I would like but I’m surprised how light this tea is. It’s definitely not something I’d drink early in the morning, but it makes for a nice pick me up in the afternoon.
So yesterday I went from brunette to copper red and I’m honestly loving it. Taking some time to adjust but I had strangers coming up to me saying how much they love my hair color. I take that as a good sign.
I’m going to be sad when this is gone, but then it means another trip to the mall so I can buy more! Except I think next time I’ll get the matcha genmaicha. I can’t really taste the soybean in the tea, possibly because the matcha overpowers it to me. However, I love matcha so I’m not really complaining, it just seems like a waste of soybean.
Flavors: Earth, Grass
Hot tea for a sore throat? Yes please. I did a lot of talking today since I was at the salon for so long having my hair done, then a friend invited me to her birthday party and I felt like I should go because she lives 10 minutes away and I haven’t seen her in 3 years.
I think I steeped this for an even shorter amount of time than I normally do because it’s very light with a hint of floral. I’m enjoying this cup more than I normally do.
I guess this tea is closest to fruit loops for me lol. I had a fruity craving after I made pad thai for dinner tonight. BTW I love Blue Apron. I think it’s stateside only but they send you fresh ingredients and recipes that are pre-portioned. My first box arrived yesterday so tonight I made my own take out and it was more delicious than actual take out.
Anyway back to work because today every time I try to study, I get distracted by looking at hair color ideas on pinterest.
I steeped this too long so it’s stronger than normal. I don’t hate, nor do I like this tea. It’s just ok so I’ll probably continue drinking through the rest of it. The few black teas I enjoy, earl grey is one of them to get me going in the morning. It’s either earl grey or sencha tea but that’s due to nostalgia from when I was in Japan.
Perhaps it’s a good thing I brewed this too strong because I was up late last night finishing up homework so I could study for my last midterm on Monday. I own’t have much time tomorrow because I’m getting my hair trimmed and dyed. :) I am itching for a new look after finally get riding of some bad mojo from my life the past few months. I also haven’t done anything to my hair in 8 years because I had a horrible diy experience that led to a color correction and having to grow my hair out.
Ok, after a long time, I finally tried steeping this again. This time I think it was a success. It’s not overly sweet and disgusting like I last remembered it. It tastes more like your usual jasmine green tea but with a little bit of grape sweetness. It’s a lot better than before because back then it tasted like a jolly rancher to me. I’m not completely sold on this tea however because it tastes a lot like Davids jasmine green tea.
I can’t believe I’m still drinking this. It’s almost gone finally! Again, picking up a lot of cake and not so much ginger.
I’ve been procrastinating on doing homework. I did some earlier and then my box from Blue Apron came and I sat there, eye’s open wide, at all the produce and meat I got. Unfortunately I’m not making anything tonight since I had a rather large late lunch, but there’s tomorrow! Afterwards the mailman came and I got some fabric swatches for personal sewing projects of mine. Then I wanted more swatches so I spent the past few hours on Mood’s site ordering more. _ I swear I don’t have a problem.
There have been a lot of sick people around me, primarily because it’s that time of the year for midterms. I felt like drinking something healthy aka grassy tasting so I steeped a pot of this. I need something to wake me up that isn’t black tea, but the toasty flavor may put me to sleep.
