48 Tasting Notes

The dry leaves give the pleasant smell of honey and flowers.

The brewed tea gives off the smell of wet earth. I get a heavy malt taste on the sip with a flower like aftertaste. It gets a lot thicker as the steeps go on. I don’t taste any of the chocolate or honey notes that are listed on this page. I do think its a decent tea but I got much tastier ones.

The leaves smell like roasted charcoal.

1st Steep: The color is very light only the slighest hint of yellow. The taste has a slight sweetness.

2nd Steep: The taste of charcoal begins the appear.

3rd, 4th Steep: The taste of char gets empowered and keeps an underlying floral taste to offset it and keep it smooth.

5th & Beyond: The taste slowly gets weaker. I got to about 10 steeps.

Overall its decent and I recommend it. Not super unique but good quality.

Thanks for the review! If you have any left, try brewing 16g/100ml at full boil. That’s the way I brew it and it should make for a very different experience!

1st, 2nd Steep: Starts with a little burnt wood scent. Has a light yellow color. I get the light taste of char and goes down very smooth leaving behind a pleasant sweet floral taste.

3rd, 4th, 5th Steep: It darkens up to a beautiful red color. The charcoal flavor grows stronger.

6th and beyond: The floral taste returns and it grows weaker through the steeps. I went 10 deep.

Flavors: Burnt, Caramel, Char, Floral, Smooth

This tea has a flavor that reminds me very much of cherry. The dry leaves have a very strong floral sweet smell to them.

1st Steep: As ball has not opened up yet the taste is weak. A get a slight underlying sweet taste. I’ll be honest I don’t know if that’s from the tea from the gummies I ate a few minutes ago. Very sure its from the tea. Almost a cherry like flavor.

2nd Steep: The cherry is most defiantly from the tea.

3rd Steep: The ball begins to break apart and the brew gets a bit darker. I have adoring the taste the rose petals provide.

Got about 8 steeps in before it went weak on me.

Flavors: Cherry, Floral, Rose, Sweet

The leaves smell lovely. Like some combo of apples and the slightest hint of mint. This is an extremely dark and thick brew that coats the mouth.

1st Steep: I taste a good amount of malt in it with a slightly astringent after taste similar to mace. The wet leaves smell of an old forest. Complete opposite of its smell while dry.

2nd – 5th Steep: The brew gets much darker. Very very heavy floral taste that somewhat reminds me of grass like green teas do. A very thick earthy aftertaste coats the mouth.

6th and beyond: It begins to get very astringent and drying until it loses all flavor. Got about 9 steeps out of it.

Not really my style.

This is a super sweet tea. Almost like liquid honey. However its super smooth. Lots of floral hints in the mix underneath it all. Sadly not a lot to say about it. Its a big time citrus taste and sweet.

No noticeable smells were in the leaves.

1st Steep: I taste the slight hint of sweet and a little bamboo.

2nd Steep: I get the strong impression of honeysuckle on the tongue with a lingering sweet flavor.

3rd & 4th Steep: The leaves break apart and get stronger. Light vegetable notes come through. Like carrots. Sweet ones.

5th Steep: The brew gets darker and the sweet veggie flavors stronger.

6th and beyond: It quickly got weaker and tapered off.

I do recommend it. The sweet veggie flavor paired with the bamboo is great.

As soon as I saw this I knew I had to pick it up. Sounds cool as hell.

1st Steep: No strong flavors in the first steep besides some bamboo and floral hints. The wet leaves smell like an odd combo of smokey and sweet. Makes me think of bbq.

2nd Steep: The black tea wakes up and breaks away powering up the flavor. I find tastes of caramel and malt. There is a drying feeling in the mouth afterwards.

3rd Steep: The brew darkens up a lot to a deep umber red. The malt flavor gets taken over by the bamboo some and tastes very floral. Hints of roasting start to appear. My mouth is even more dry then before.

4th Steep: The roasted flavor brightens up and the drying goes down a bit.

5th and Beyond: Things turn back to the floral side slowly and weaken. Longer steeps do well. You can get a ton of steeps out of this. On my 15th now.

Not the greatest flavors ever but defiantly interesting. I highly recommend it.

Opening the bag the leaves smell ultra fruity and chocolaty. The leaves are a golden color just like the name to.

1st Steep: I get the strong taste of fruit punch and subtle hints of chocolate. Smooth on the palette. The wet leaves smell a bit like caramel.

2nd & 3rd Steeps: The fruit flavor becomes even more intense and a strong hint of malt remains on the swallow.

4th and beyond: The flavor weakens and dry mouth begins to set in. By the 7th it was almost entirely astringent.

I will defiantly get some 100g bags of this. Its a lovely tea while it lasts.

The dry leaves smell a bit floral and sweet reminding me of green tea.

1st Steep: The first steep brings a light floral and sweet flavor. The wet leaves smell of oats and barley.

2nd Steep: As the leaves begin to wake up it gets sweeter and more of a roasted flavor.

3rd Steep & beyond: The flavor gets a bit stronger and then tapers off into astringency when you hit the 5th.

This is a decent tea, nothing special in my opinion. I can’t recommend it, not that its bad. Just bland.
