drank Buttered Rum (Organic) by DAVIDsTEA

This tea makes me so happy! I forget to log this one because I almost always drink it at night as a dessert tea. Buttered Rum reminds me of those Lifesavers candies by the same name that I once ate an entire package of as a child. I loved those candies and I love this tea! It has a creamy, rich, decadent flavor that I can’t get enough of.

I owe my introduction to David’s Tea to my dear friend Taryn, (whose Steepster name escapes me at the moment), and this fantastic tea. Taryn’s tea recomendations are gospel to me now :)

I was sent a sample of this tea with my David’s Tea order. This is a very strong black tea for my taste, and I honestly didn’t get much of a raspberry or coconut flavor from it. I once loved strong black teas. If fact, I remember smashing my English Breakfast tea in the basket trying to get every last bit of flavor from it. This was a good black tea, but not one that suits my tea taste today.

Ha! My taste buds were protecting me from certain disappointment. Better I not like what I can’t have :)

drank Blazing Strawberries by DAVIDsTEA

I love fresh strawberies, but I hate artificially flavored strawberry foods. I took a gamble when I orderd this tea. I’ve never sipped a strawberry tea that tasted remotely like the real thing…until today. This is a strawberry tea I can definatly recomend.

Bamboo leaves make for a mellow tea base, and the sweet strawberries are complimented by a firey kiss of pink peppercorns. The pink peppercorns with their slight citrus flavor add to the pleasing fruity flavor with a tiny bit of heat. I drank my first cup of this tea hot because it’s gloomy out today, but I bet it will taste even better iced.

drank Creme Caramel Rooibos by DAVIDsTEA

Well, the world didn’t end yesterday so that’s good. What isn’t so good is this tea. I’m a David’s Tea fan girl in general, but this tea left me wanting. Also, I suspect I’m a terrible vegan for even trying it. Creme Caramel with caramel bits in it almost defiantly has a dairy component, but in my tea mania I wasn’t even considering that. Six years vegan and I can still make a stupid mistake.

As a rooibos it tasted fine as all David’s Teas are high quality in my opinion, but I didn’t get much of a caramel flavor from it at all. It certainly didn’t provide as rich dessert tea and that was what I wanted. As I suspect it’s not vegan anyway, I won’t be trying it again. I have a nearly full 50g pouch if anyone wants it.

I know there is an ingredients page somewhere on the DT site, though I can’t find it. But, at the bottom of this page is a list of which teas contain dairy products that might be helpful in the future! http://www.davidstea.com/faq

Jenn

Yeah, there are always simple ways to avoid silly decisions. I loose all sense of reason when I’m in a tea ordering frenzy. Lesson learned… (It’ll totally happen again). Thank you for the link.

Jenn

I’m confused too. There is a list of teas that would seem to contain dairy on the David’s Tea website, but then under the list there’s a caveat saying that the dairy is only in trace amounts. I’m not concerned about trace amounts of dairy from shared equipment, so I would still consider drinking the teas’s on that list if they don’t have a deliberate dairy component. Oh well, at least we don’t have to agonize over this one :)

Oh, I can relate. I forget about things like disliking ginger when I’m in a tea frenzy.

I really liked this one when I first started frequenting DT, but quickly tired of it. Like you said, roobios is the predominant flavour and it’s not what you want from this tea.

Faith

I’ll take it, if you still have it!

veronica

If you haven’t given it away yet, I’d love to try it!

hiya jenn! for commiseration, i too am vegan and STILL bought this tea AND the birthday cake tea. i had teahead! i was not being reasonable. (teahead says, ‘but it’s like having a teeny tiny 1/12 piece of milk chocolate at MOST!’ arg!)

drank Goji Pop by DAVIDsTEA

This tea rocks! I’ve read some reviews of this tea that haven’t been exactly positive, and I can’t wrap my head around that. I feel almost defensive when this tea doesn’t get the praise it deserves. Goji Pop is a wonderful fruity lift your spirits kind of tea.

This is a weird and wonderful tea! When I opened the package, I had to resist the urge to pop pieces of fluffy delicious popcorn directly in my mouth. The smell of the tea is utterly amazing – like the best kettle corn you’ve ever smelled! And guess what…it tastes like yummy salty sweet kettle corn too. I love you David!

I really like this tea for it’s spicy deliciousness as well as it’s welcome caffeine boost in the morning. I’ve taken to drying out the tea after I’ve steeped it once, and grinding it up to use in chai tea cakes. You litterally just mix a few tsp. of the ground tea into your tea cake batter, and voila yummy chai tea cakes.

It’s a chilly afternoon and the perfect time to enjoy this Red Velvet Chocolate tea. It’s a delicious rooibos and hebal blend that’s perfect with a dash of turbinado sugar and coconut cream. The chocolate flavor could be a bit stonger in my opinion, but perhaphs I need to let it steep a bit longer than I typically do.

I’m an animal loving vegan foodie, and a card carrying tea fanatic! Didn’t you get your card?

I typically drink my black tea with a splash of almond or coconut cream and a dash of turbinado sugar or stevia. My green teas I typically drink straight, and the same goes for most of my other teas with an occasional exception. I live on the edge!
