drank Toasted Walnut by DAVIDsTEA

Ah summertime. Despite the walnut, which is the only not-so-summer ingredient, I still smell summer. Thank you coconut and pineapple.

Ooh this is nutty and I’m enjoying it. Excellent. This may be an upgrade as well. These nut teas keep blowing me away. Never did I think I’d enjoy a nut tea. Yet each and every one I’m loving.

I’ve been looking forward to trying this one in my quest to find an Earl Grey (or variation of) I enjoy. This one seems hopeful.

I’m enjoying the scent (as much as possible with the bergamot). I like that there’s a hint of orange and the bergamot isn’t knock-you-over strong.

I love how light the green teas can be. This one is no exception. It’s so tricky with an Earl Grey smell and a green tea taste. I like it.

I like the smell of this one. It could be a little toned down but overall pretty good.

This isn’t bad. There’s a trend I’m finding with rooibos, in that I’m tasting what seems like alcohol. Not really loving that. Perhaps I’m steeping it too long? Or not long enough? I steep on the short end of what’s recommended on the package (usually 4 mins). Hmm.

However, the “alcohol” taste is not too apparent here (much worse in Creme Brulee) so I can manage and enjoy this one. Also reminiscent of a not so in-your-face Amaretto from DavidsTea.

this is one of those teas that didn’t call out to me. and i just kept ignoring it. until it came in a sample pack and i was like ‘okay i’ll try this why not’.
and who knows, maybe because i had such low expectations of it, but i remember being really surprised and thrilled with it’s taste!
now i save what little bit i have left for special evenings. savoring each sip.

drank Honey Bee by DAVIDsTEA

The smell of this one I’m not loving. It might not be a bad smell if it wasn’t so strong. Also it smells like something from Lush. I can’t remember which product…I’ll have to keep thinking.

This has a sweetness that i’m not liking. I can’t really nail down what it is. Not a normal “it’s just too sweet”. It’s sweet in a roundabout way. Hmm. Not the mate for me.

ya not my favorite mate. but also not my least favorite. so, there’s that.
hah

Crowkettle

This is one of those blends that seeps into the very pores of a room. It’s not bad at all but it’s enough to prevent me from making it too often. Invasive~

Daisy Chubb

Maybe Honey I washed the kids soap, or Honey Bee bath bomb? Or It’s Raining Men shower gel? I looove that honey smell, I know that one! lol

Courtney

Haha I love Honey I Washed The Kids soap! It’s all I use. But that’s not it. I’ll go check my cupboard.

Daisy Chubb

I find this tea has a really sharp element to the smell, I can’t wait to see what you find! haha

Courtney

I think it’s Soft Coeur DaisyChubb :) Ah my mind can rest once again.

Daisy Chubb

There we go! haha I was going to suggest that one but didn’t want to list everything ever. Yummmy soft coeur.

This one smells so good! I love cinnamon hearts. Seriously I eat them until I can’t really taste them anymore because it feels as though I’ve burned my taste buds clear off.

Liking it for sure. And nice touch of not burning the taste buds off. I was a little nervous there’d be something overpowering in such a strong scent but it all works together so nicely.

The more it cools, the more it tastes exactly like cinnamon hearts. I’m getting a warming near the back of my throat and down from the cinnamon or peppercorns.

Update February 27/13: I resteeped this one this morning for my drive. The resteep is good but it’s all peppercorns and no sweetness. Still enjoyable, but not as much as the first round.

drank Jungle Ju Ju by DAVIDsTEA

I have 3 exams this week and 2 assignments due. Agh.

This has a lovely fruity smell to it. It’s actually reminding me of Kiwi’s Big Adventure. And what exactly is a stimulant to DavidsTea? I looked in their FAQ but I want more info. Is this the equivalent to drinking coffee?

I can’t get Kiwi’s Big Adventure out of my mind, even drinking it is reminding me of it. Really, not a bad thing. I wanted to love Kiwi’s Big Adventure but it needed more flavour in my opinion. But they don’t have any of the same ingredients. Bizarre. This one I’m enjoying though. Perhaps when I get home from my exam this morning I’ll resteep and chill to try it out iced :)

That’s 4 for 4 from my Davids trip yesterday. Yeeaah.

Update: I let the rest of my cup from this morning sit in the fridge while I went to school this morning. It was still pretty good chilled but I think I may prefer it hot. I could see it being just as good chilled with perhaps a wee bit of sugar.

Update February 12/13: Still really enjoying this one. Brought it for the drive and first class this morning. I actually added a wee but of agave this morning to mellow out the slight bitter taste. Not over-steeped bitter, more like lemon bitter. Really too bad I can’t make tea at school. And I can’t wait to be done classes and yoga so I can go home and finish the last episode of Dexter season 7! Then perhaps I can get back on my readings.

I’m learning that I’m enjoying tea with nuts, which is unusual since I despise nuts. Curious.

This one is very smooth. It goes down easy. Though I wish I could get a little more sweetness from the raisins. I’ll have to double check that I get more in there next time. Overall, pretty good though I don’t think I’ll keep it regularly. Every once in a while I could see enjoying it. Granted that’s what I said about Mulberry Magic with macadamia nuts, yet lo and behold I bought 50g today.

drank Prairie Berry by DAVIDsTEA

This one’s really good! I love the berries in this – far better than Blueberry Jam, which it initially reminded me of. There’s a hint of sweetness in every sip that really makes this tea quite amazing.

This one may need to be kept around.

drank Orange Blossom by DAVIDsTEA

This one smells so good! Hopefully this will be the rooibos for me :)

Yes! Enjoyment. There’s something in this that vaguely makes me think of carbonation. And I’m not too sure on the aftertaste. But things I can get past I’m sure.

As it cools the aftertaste diminishes. Love when things work out.

The more I drink the more it reminds me of a creamsicle. But because it’s hot my taste buds are confused. I may try this one out cold to see what happens.

Now back to the books.

Update: Possibly even better when it’s chilled.

Another awesome sample from CharlotteZero :)

I love my breakfast teas! Even though it’s 4 in the afternoon haha. This one is no exception. I’m just trying it straight and already love it. Yum. It can only get better with a wee bit of milk and sugar :)

Bio

I love black tea and this is usually what’s in my mug. I’m also happy to enjoy a cup of green or red rooibos (green preferable to red), herbals, oolongs (unroasted/green and red preferable to roasted), whites, and subtly flavoured greens (mango or pineapple, yum!).

Likes:
Raspberry, strawberry, peach, rhubarb, passionfruit, blackcurrant, redcurrant, fig, and most fruits in general, maple, creaminess, hay, biscuit, lavender, and cacao/dark chocolate.

I enjoy bergamot when paired with flavours that mellow it (Camellia Sinensis Earl Grey Cream is one of my favourites).

Dislikes:
Any smokiness at all, stevia, too much blackberry leaf, rose, jasmine, ginger (except in chai), cinnamon-heavy teas, anything cloying or fake/candy-like.

I’m vegan with an allergy to potatoes, so I avoid any animal products in tea, along with sprinkles as these often have potato starch (I usually just pick them out of blends).
