1440 Tasting Notes
Thanks tattooed_tea for this one :)
This is so tasty. I’m finding lime in tea to be quite enjoyable. I’m really only getting a slight creaminess I can attribute to the coconut, if anything. Perhaps the second steep will bring out more of the coconut, but for now I’ll happily enjoy the lime.
I knew there was a reason I wanted to try this tea. It is so delicious. All the black teas I’ve had today have been near perfection. What an excellent tea day!
This has a lovely black base with a mixture of flavours that complement each other nicely. Like a cinnamon bun without the overwhelming sweetness – pretty much exactly like brioche. Yum!
I may have to look into ordering from American Tea Room.
Thanks jessiwrites :)
Sil, have you ever done an order with American Tea Room? Their shipping is a bit steep to Canada. Any ideas/suggestions what other teas are good from them?
Courtney – i have not, beyond the stuff i’ve tried in swaps. But i was thinking of asking my tea mule to cart some up here for me maybe in July? I can make a mental note to touch base with you and add a few things for you to my order.
I thought I’d perhaps had this before, but it appears I have not. This is similar to Della Terra’s other black teas with peppermint and vanilla and/or chocolate. In a word, amazing. I’m not a fan of Della Terra’s black teas without mint, but the ones with mint I just can’t get enough of.
It appears my black tea aversion has been cured, as, over the last couple days all I’ve been wanting is a tasty black tea. This has been a great morning in terms of that pursuit.
The resteep of this was also successful.
This tea is quite delicious. I’ve been pining over the loss of 52Teas Raspberry Cream and this tea is just what this reminds me of, with a hint of strawberry rather than raspberry. There’s is no fakeness of overwhelming flavour – just a lovely black base with a subtle fruit taste in the background that makes for a great cup of tea. I’m just checking out Mystic Brew’s eBay store now to see if this is available.
Thanks jessiwrites!
Update: Just ordered more :) Not much makes me happier than when I can get shipping to Canada. Yay!
Thanks jessiwrites for sending me so many tea samples!
This tea is quite lovely. The black base is strong, yet not overpowering the other ingredients. There’s certainly a hint of vanilla and banana. The banana is very subtle, but it’s there. The subtlety of the banana could also be the reason there’s no fakeness to the taste. I’d consider ordering this tea for myself.
This tea is pretty tasty. On first sip I found it to be quite similar to Butiki’s Watermelon Xylophone, with the obvious exception being the tea base here is green.
I wouldn’t necessarily say this is a true watermelon flavour, but it’s one of the better watermelon teas I’ve had. I’m always on the hunt for a perfect watermelon tea. It has a subtle sweetness to it.
I’m finding the tea to be light and calming. Hopefully this will be conducive to all the work I have to get done today.
This tea is fascinating. I think I’m enjoying it? It has a very distinct flavour. The lemongrass adds such a unique flavour when combined with the coconut and pineapple. I’ll have to think more on this one as I finish my cup.
Thanks Scheherazade!
Yay my 52Teas order arrived!
This tea was the one I was the most excited about and it did not disappoint. The banana flavour is clear, but not overly fake. The coconut adds a creaminess, but I think I may prefer it without coconut. I’m not completely decided on that. The black base is not overwhelming the other flavours and everything is balanced really well together.
The second steep is still tasty. All the flavours are slightly diminished and I think I’m getting more coconut than banana overall.
