1440 Tasting Notes
This one is light and airy. The colour of the water barely changes. The pine taste is growing on me more and more. I’m not sure I’ll keep this one around permanently, but I could see re-ordering it occasionally.
I’m back to researching today. The sheer data amount is still overwhelming, even after narrowing it down geographically.
Flavors: Pine
I’ve never ordered this one myself, but jessiwrites sends me some occasionally. I don’t think I love it enough to order it myself, but yet I thoroughly enjoy it the rare times I do drink it. It really does embody a strawberry cupcake with a nice black base.
Preparation
This one was sent my way by Stephanie :)
This one seems quite similar to Coconut Oolong from David’s. Though I generally prefer darker oolongs, so perhaps someone with more of a palate for green oolongs would say differently.
It’s green oolong-y, it’s coconutty. Overall a tasty tea.
I’ve been researching fisheries and bycatch all day, and I am almost overwhelmed with the data I’ve found. There’s too much! Well, there’s too much to wade through to find what I need to find.
Flavors: Coconut
Preparation
This was in my most recent S&V order. I find they do dessert teas so well, though granted I also tire of them quicker than other teas. But while I enjoy them, they are delightful.
The scent is predominantly chocolate and black tea. In my initial sip I’m getting some caramel flavour with some chocolate in the background. The chocolate is more towards the end of the sip. With each sip the chocolate seems to become more obvious and melds with the caramel well. I think I’ll try this at a lower temperature next time to see if it coaxes a bit more flavour out.
I’ve also decided to hunt for a great maple tea. I’m open to suggestions. :)
Flavors: Caramel, Chocolate
Preparation
Have you tried Steam’s Canadian Maple Seduction…? I feel like such a pusher, but it’s SO maple. Think boiled maple candy.
Was it you who was going to come to Vancouver this summer? If not, I could always send you some, nothing expected in return. :)
This was another from my swap with Stephanie. :)
This is just the type of black tea I love. It’s deep, rich, bright, and delicious. Lots of adjectives apply to this tea. I’m realizing more and more that some of my favourite teas are from Taiwan.
What a great introduction to Mantra Tea.
Preparation
This one smelled promising, but in the end, I don’t think it’s something for me. There was a taste I couldn’t place, the the back of my throat that just didn’t sit quite right. Which is bizarre since it’s the base of VFCC. As always though, I’m so glad Stacy included this as a sample. Samples are genius for this very reason.
Alo, my friend just sent me a Valentine’s card and it is amazing. Amazing.
LOL, I like it almost as much as this one http://imgur.com/gallery/shtLNbD
Okay you guys, I had the brilliant idea to pair my wireless keyboard with the computer. Hello! The only thing is that my wireless keyboard is Swedish, and therefore has different keys in different places. Thank goodness for muscle memory and knowing where all my punctuation marks are. Mwuahaha.
This one was a sample I requested in my latest Butiki order. It brews up a nice medium colour and the scent has that honey sweetness that I love. However, upon my first few sips I feel as though I’m getting the subtlest hint of smoke. Eek. I’m still sipping away though, so perhaps it’s all in my imagination. I’m always thrilled to try new Butikis, but I don’t think this one will make it to my cupboard anytime in the near future.
Thanks! I thought it was pretty smart too. I find it handy when I type in Swedish because of their extra letters. :)
hahahahahaha

it all started when fjellrev changed her name..and i said it reminded me of the swedish chef…mostly’cause it’s swedish heh..but yeah.. it’s turned into a bit of a joke now..
This one was sent my way from Lala. This is also a backlog from last night.
I have to say that even though this was nice, I much prefer Love Life from H&S. It’s not completely the same tea but it’s much more subtle. The flavouring here was just a touch too strong for the green base. I’m happy to have been able to try it out though. Thanks Lala!
This one was a sample from jessiwrites in my awesome package of samples and orders.
I’m honestly getting mostly green tea with a hint of almond. The scent of marzipan-almost almondness is pretty strong, but the taste is nearly as much. I’m not huge on either almonds or green tea, but I’m enjoying this cup.
Also, you guys! I’ve done two swaps with MirandaGou and she seems to have disappeared! I opened my inbox message with her and it’s only my messages to her – she has just vanished! I tried searching for her under “Explore” and nothing. What is happening?!
I’ve been meaning to try this one… maybe this week!
I was a bit wary, but I’m happy I ended up trying it. :)
