Another buy from Amazon. I fell in love with green oolongs this past summer after trying some great Oolongs from a fantastic teashop in a small town in British Columbia, Canada- owned by a Taiwanese guy. I’ve been desperately trying to find the same quality of an oolong I got there named “Gao-Shan”. It was $13.50CAD for 100grams, very cheap considering the amazing quality. I tried this Jade Oolong, at about $8.50 for 105grams from Amazon. It was good. I enjoyed it, just not the same amount of deep, floral flavors and soul as the Gao-Shan. I would buy this again, it comes at a very decent price. Still better than the more expensive oolongs I got from Adagio Tea.

A solid Pu-erh for the price. I’ve spent alot more money on Pu-erhs that weren’t any better than the quality I got here. It has a good chi feeling to it and it leaves me uplifted, happy, and rounded. A good Pu-erh to drink whilst chopping wood in the snow.

Nothing to write home about. Too astringent and too less of that “golden sweetness” you’d expect for a golden tips tea. Not bad, but not what I was expecting. Still a very clean feeling.

drank Puerh by SerendipiTea

This was horrifyingly bad tea. I bought this from amazon, on the picture it was labeled as organic certified but when I got it in the mail that was not the case. To make matters much worse I open up the package and the mini puerh cakes smell like straight chemical mixed with this minty smell. I thought perhaps it could be salvaged by seeing how it brews. Absolutely disgusting!! A very dirty tea. I emailed the company and gave my concerns and I asked for a refund for the false advertising of being organically certified. Straight crickets! No word back from this company. Skip this tea, and skip this company!
Unfortunately I can’t describe the flavors from steepsters list so here they are-
Chemical, plastic, butthole, mentos

I bought this tea about a year ago. I was very pleased with the service I got from Whispering Pines, they were prompt with shipping and included a generous sample. I was intrigued to buy this tea for obvious reasons- it’s unique. I am not a black tea fan, but I decided I’d give this a shot. I was very pleased at how much “soul” this tea had. By far the best black tea I’ve ever had and probably one of the best teas I’ve ever had in general. I give it a 91 instead of a 100 because it is on the pricey side, but if you have the coin to spare go for it!

drank Jade Cloud by Rishi Tea

So I decided to sign up for an account after being appalled by the low rating of “74” this tea has gotten. This tea is simply brilliant. It is sensitive, yes, and I have found if it is brewed longer than two minutes on the first brew at above a temperature of 80celcius it can get bitter. However, if brewed properly it is absolutely divine. It clears the mind wonderfully, and I feel it has really high levels of theanine (which is what I look for in a tea). It has a very clean, fresh, feeling- much like the early days of spring. Of course I have had higher quality green teas before, but with rating a tea I take in account the price. At $49 a pound, it is quite the bargain and that is why I give this tea a solid 90. I highly respect Rishi tea company and I trust them very much. I have never had a tea from them that tasted “dirty”. Again, just be careful not to over brew this tea and you’ll be soaring high on Jade Cloud 9!!
