drank Peanut Butter Cup by DAVIDsTEA
31 tasting notes

This tea grew on me after many tries, from being initially repulsed to feeling sad to see it go away with the fall collection. It claims to have chocolate flavours in it which I did not detect at any point, and once I learned to view it simply as a peanut butter tea, I enjoyed it much more. It is not cakey or dessert-like at all; it is nutty and earthy and bold. An enjoyable blend that suffers from poor naming choices.

drank Chocolate Macaroon by DAVIDsTEA

A truly fantastic desert tea. Chocolate and coconut are already a perfect combination, and this tea elevates them to sip able perfection. Chocolate remains the. Main flavour note, followed by coconut and more subtle notes of rich nuts and cake. It never gets too sweet despite the fact it contains rock sugar crystals. A decadent drink to be enjoyed any time of day.

drank Honey, I Dew by DAVIDsTEA

A delicate mleon tea perfect for when you want something light and not too sweet. Melon is the strongest flavour note with undertones of apple. This tea contains mango and pineapple, which are traditionally strong flavours, but thankfully they are hardly detectable here. A wonderful example of the elusive melon tea category.

Amazing tea! The strongest note is peppermint, which I am a big fan of, but the other ingredients make it more of a spiced peppermint. There’s the cool sensation of menthol followed by the slight burn of ginger and pepper. Fennel and clove are hard to detect alone, but their contribution is felt. I had this tea when I was feeling indigestion and nausea and it cured me completely of both. I adore it.

drank Pumpkin Pie Matcha by DAVIDsTEA

Another yummy flavoured matcha. The pumpkin spice flavour is subtle and plays second to the earthy taste of matcha, though this wasn’t surprising at all. It has just enough flavouring to take the edge off the vegetal matcha. Great for when you want a hint of pumpkin spice rather than being slapped by it. There is a lot of sugar cane already in this, so it doesn’t require any sweetening.

A liquid cinnamon heart, to pit it simply. The cinnamon in this tea hits you right in the face; there is nothing subtle about it. There’s a lighter tone of cloves and I found I couldn’t taste orange peel at all. The pepper hits you as an aftertaste and is also quite intense. If you steep this tea longer than 4 minutes you’ll be in for an extremely spicy, hot experience. Adding any type of sweetener to this makes it very unpleasant since it’s already quite sweet on its own.

drank Banana Nut Bread by DAVIDsTEA
31 tasting notes

I’m not a fan of nut tea or banana tea, so I didn’t go into this with high hopes. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this tea has a very light taste overall, preventing neither flavour from becoming overpowering. The dry tea doesn’t have the most pleasant smell. Brews a pale yellow, creates a thin oily layer, and needs only the smallest amount of sweetening. A delicate, subdued drink great for relaxing with.

drank Forever Nuts by DAVIDsTEA
31 tasting notes

I have little love for nut teas, so I went into this one hesitantly. I’m grateful to say that this tea is amaaazing. It has detectable but light tones of apple, a dash of cinnamon, and just the softest undertone of nuts. The major overarching flavour can only be described as a sort of bakery, pastry taste. It reminds me of a Danish or a muffin of some sort. This is one of the most popular teas for a reason.

A deliciously fruity, tangy tea. I imagined a strawberry tea would be strikingly sweet, but the rhubarb luckily prevents this from happening. This tea brews a lovely deep ruby colour and smells sweet and creamy thanks to the yogurt bits. All the promised flavour notes are detectable and combine to create a yummy dessert tea that doesn’t overpower with sugar at all.

drank Lime Gelato by DAVIDsTEA
31 tasting notes

A gentle green tea great for the evening. The lime flavour is not juice-like or gaudy; it’s instead a subdued citrus overtone that mingles well with the apple chunks. I didn’t pick up on any of the creaminess it claims to have, but I would argue it benefits from that absence. Overall a very low key but delicious tea perfect for keeping things simple.
