a kind friend gifted me a bunch of tea recently, including this one. i’m not big on herb/fruit teas, but this one is quite sunny & soothing. i debated adding sweetener, such as honey & i think next time i’ll do so. i brewed for 8 minutes & found the tea, as i tend to with fruit teas, a tad astringent. i can’t taste the ginger per se, but there’s a ginger effect, a bit of spice hitting the tongue. it’s a lively tea. perfect for an afternoon pick me up.

such a delicious tea. it’s silky. i put the leaves in a pot so that they could expand & steeped for 4 minutes for first cup. not sure if it is de rigueur to add milk & sugar, but i did so. i find it just enhances the flavour. delicious!

this is a personal blend made up of Maple Valley Tea World’s Ceylon & orange peels. it has a very subtle orange taste. the base could be stronger.

this is a very nice orange pekoe. they had the bag version in my grocery store. i don’t know what’s gotten into the buyer at my local grocery store. we have a lot of tea varieties of late. this one is tasty & flavourful when stepped at 4 minutes but don’t go overboard. 4m30seconds & it becomes a wee bit bitter. it loves milk & sugar. this is the tea that you offer to a friend in need of a shoulder & a good cry.

i actually have the bagged tea rather than the loose leaf. it’s quite tasty with a steeping time of six minutes, a cube of sugar & a dollop of milk. nice caramel colour, a rich elegant taste. not overly strong, but not weak either. a kind of middle of the road tea. very calming. it has a royal feel to it.

improbably this tea appeared in our local Canadian grocery store a few months ago & i’ve been hankering to try it. it’s a serviceable tea, a tea drinker’s tea. tastes similar to Red Rose, an old family favourite. it is tea I believe my Yorkshire parents would find acceptable. at 4 minutes steeped, with the addition of one sugar cube & a dollop of milk, it is just the right strength. this is the tea you serve to a person who has had an emotional upset. it will soothe them.

drank Lady Grey by Twinings

this tea was gifted to me by a friend. i’ve always preferred the lady to the earl, which i always found too perfumy tasting. i stepped my LG for just four minutes & i think it could have done with a bit more time. the Twinings variety doesn’t have as much flavour as other versions of this tea, but it’s pleasant, calming & quenching. not a bad way to start the day.

a friend gifted me with this tea. i am a fan of Darjeeling, but it is somewhat delicate. this is a lovely version, very aromatic. i may have steeped a wee bit too long at five minutes.
