60 Tasting Notes
the jasmine is flavourful but the green tea part is overly strong; perhaps i should have steeped it less than three minutes. i do love the scent of jasmine that meets my nose as i lift the mug to my lips.
Flavors: Bitter, Grass, Hay, Jasmine
Preparation
i haven’t had this tea in years. i always loved it. it’s a very spicy tea. on cold winter days like this one, it offers comfort. i like to drink it with milk & sugar. i find during my period when my stomach is all crampy, this tea is very soothing.
Preparation
maybe could do with a bit less of a steep. i usually steep the loose leaf lapsang souchong for 6 minutes, but this bag version seems to have just a bit of a bitter aftertaste. i haven’t tried the loose leaf variety of ToH’s LS; however this comes across as a bit gentler, less smoky than over leafed versions of said tea. still, it’s very tasty & on a cold end of january morning like this one, it’s a good pick me up. i can imagine the crackling fire.
Preparation
gifted to me by a friend. i steeped it for four minutes, added a brown sugar cube & a wee dollop of milk. it isn’t as strong as Irish Breakfast, but its flavour has more complexity than English Breakfast. there are some light finishing notes. do i detect the taste of whisky? could be my imagination. a delicious tea to savour & enjoy.
gifted to me by a kind friend who knows i like different varieties of tea, this tea is surprisingly delicious, uplifting with a hint of spice. mirabelle is apparently a small yellow plum. the tea comes from Poland. it’s probably one of the nicest, more complex fruit teas that i’ve ever had. i’d like to take this taste & wrap it in chocolate.
