I am so painfully behind on logging my teas. I’ve been drinking a lot, but for some reason I am lacking the motivation to log them all. Well, I must push through and try to catch up! Starting with this, which I got in the book club swap with Terri HarpLady and am sipping right now!

I was planning on a gongfu session with one of the new(ish) Verdant oolongs, but I’ve been eating painfully healthy recently so screw it, I’m making a latte! Not that lattes are particularly bad for you, I’ve been using less and less sugar in mine recently. 1 cup milk, 1 cup water, a tiny squeeze of honey, and my sample of this lovely blend which reminds me wonderfully of my beloved Paris.

This is creamy with a delicious berry note, so smooth and tasty! As a latte it’s just to die for, like a fancy dressed up london fog. And perfect for the book we are reading, An American Heiress. Blackcurrant always reads as a very European taste to me (probably because of those hard candies that come in the fancy gold tins), so I can close my eyes and imagine myself in a British castle, hanging out in front of a roaring fire instead of a boring old tv!

I’m so glad you like it! I’ve never thought about doing it Latte style, I’ll have to give that a go!

It’s really good! The moment I sniffed the dry leaves I knew it was destined for a decadent preparation.

Terri HarpLady

I could use a little decadence!

I love making tea lattes, it’s a nice way to feel like you’re pampering yourself without actually eating/drinking something that is overly sugary and bad for you!

Tea has always been a passion of mine, though I got away from it during college. A lack of cupboard space and a constant influx of people into my suite made me pretty much abandon my teas at home. But now that I’m done with school, it’s definitely come back with a vengeance—to the point where I’ve purchased about 65 different kinds in the past 3 months!

I like most kinds of teas—yes, even peach, which I used to think I disliked!. Oolongs are definitely my favorite, and I’m an avid fan of earl grey, floral teas, and chai blends along with anything melon. The only kind of teas on my “no” list are rooibos blends (which gives me headaches) and banana flavored ones since bananas are public enemy #1 in my mind.

The best thing about tea for me is how you can be passionate about it and still have it integrate into all of your other hobbies. I like a lot of things: writing, video games, books, sewing, figure collecting, astronomy… it’s a long list. But whatever I’m doing, I can have a cup of tea in hand!
