1758 Tasting Notes
This is an excellent tea. It is somewhat sweet with almost no bitterness. It is good. It doesn’t taste quite as good as when they brewed it at the Pleasures of Tea Infuse Tea Bar.
I brewed this once in an 18oz teapot with 3 tsp leaf and 190 degree water for 3 min.
Preparation
Picked this one tonight because I am avoiding caffeine. I think this one has begun to lose its flavor. It is a savory rooibos with a fair amount of bitterness. I don’t remember it being bitter but I could be wrong. I can’t concentrate on the flavors anyway, all I can think about is my poor cat, now gone. She died around 11 am today. At least she didn’t sutter. She would have died of starvation as she had refused to eat. The vet offered to rerun the tests but I didn’t think them wrong. He said her numbers were indicative of kidney failure where the other vet wanted me to spend a fortune I don’t have on specialists. Letting my cat go was one of the most painful things I have ever done.

Allen, I understand fully that that was one of the most painful and awful decisions you have had to make. At 15 Pandora was part of your life and family for a long time and I imagine she was very special to you. Thinking of you as you grieve. So sorry for you loss..
MR Mopar, sorry to hear about the chairman, I thought he was only a kitten? What happened? My cat, whom I miss horribly, was 15.
:( So sorry to hear. We had a cat (12, I believe) with kidney failure, and went through with all the tests, etc. He probably suffered more than he should have, so I’m glad to hear your dear cat did not.
I am dreading this morning. Today, barring a miracle, my beloved cat will be put to sleep because of kidney disease. While I am hoping my vet can work a miracle there is little hope. The cat has stopped eating and I cannot let the cat go by self starvation.
This tea is sweet with dates notes, I would venture to say. I picked it out because it was the first puerh I came across. IT is a tasty tea.
I brewed this once in an 18oz teapot with 3 tsp leaf and boiling water for 30 sec.

I’m so sorry. I hope your vet can pull something out of their sleeve.
You’re doing the right, loving thing, even though that thing sucks and hurts like hell.
Take good care of yourself.
My cat died around 11am today. I am saddened beyond my ability to express. I should not grieve this much for a cat, but I do.
I’m very sorry to hear about your cat. You are absolutely entitled to grieve for him or her. Pets are family too and though they don’t live as long as people, they have a huge impact on our lives.
I’m so sorry for your loss. You did the right thing and preserved her dignity and saved her as much pain as you could. Pandora and you were both lucky to have had each other.
Picked this up from David’s Tea the other day. Brewed it this afternoon and put it in a thermos. It is quite tasty. It somewhat malty with strong notes of cocoa or chocolate.
I brewed this once in an 18oz teapot with boiling water and 3 tsp leaf for 3 min.
Flavors: Cocoa, Malt
Preparation
I can definitely get the notes of green beans, spinach, asparagus, and artichoke in this tea. Those or something like them are definitely present. There is also a vegetal quality to it. There is also a slight sour note to it. It not bad, just not great, somewhere in the middle.
I brewed this once in an 18oz teapot with 3 tsp leaf and 175 degree water for 2 min.
Flavors: Sour, Vegetal
Preparation
I picked a green tonight because it has less caffeine. This one is not bad, very vegetal. I get the note of spinach too. It has been a long day and my trip to the vet for my cat did not go well. My cat is in the early stages of kidney failure and may have cancer of the eye. I do not have thousands of dollars to spend in attempts to slow down the progression of the disease. It would cost a couple thousand dollars and there is no guarantee of success.

Thank you for your support. Unfortunately there is not much to be done and anything like dialysis is out of my ability to afford.
This tea is excellent. I need a good cup of tea this morning as I wait for the animal hospital to open. My cat is very sick. This tea is sweet with a moderate amount of fermentation flavor. I am only getting the sweet notes, perhaps the various other notes only come out when you gongfu it. But anyway it is good
I brewed this tea once in an 18oz teapot with 7g leaf and boiling water for 30 sec.
Flavors: Sweet

It looks like my kitty will not get better. She is in the early stages of kidney failure and may have cancer of the eye.
This is a good tea but not a spectacular tea. It does not measure up to its namesake by Dayi, the 2010 Menghai Tea Factory Golden Needle White Lotus but I wanted to try it. It was a replacement tea from Berylleb for a different tea they sent me that was moldy. I was hoping this would be spectacular. After a long day that started with finding a brick through my window of my old car, getting the glass fixed (luckily I have full glass coverage), trading the car in for my new Subaru, I needed a good tea. This one was bitter in the first steep, got a little less bitter in the second steep, lost most of its bitterness in the third steep, and lost all of its bitterness by the fourth steep. By the fourth steep this was a very tasty sweet tea. I was drinking during a gaming session so I wasn’t paying attention to the nuances but it got pretty good, but still not spectacular. This is also a tea that started out quite strong and got weak fairly quickly. I took it through six steepings and it was nearly played out.
I steeped this tea six times in a 220ml Gaiwan with 8.8g leaf and boiling water. I steeped it for 10 sec, 5 sec, 10 sec, 15 sec, 20 sec, and 30 sec. Judging by how weak steep six was I would say it only had two more steepings left in it.
Flavors: Earth, Sweet
Preparation
Picked this one out this morning almost at random, it was the first puerh I came across today. This tea is incredible, end of statement. It is sweet and a little bit earthy. The fermentation flavor is just barely noticeable, barely. I would call the sweet note a dates note, but that is just an opinion..
I brewed this tea twice in an 18oz teapot with 6.3g leaf and boiling water. I steeped it for 30 sec, and 30 sec. The second steeping I put in a thermos to bring to work.
Flavors: Dates, Sweet

THis moring I am drinking a weird tea, organic chrysanthemum silver needle tea from the Clipper Ship Tea Company. The flavors of the chrysanthemum and white tea do not mix as well as they do with that and puerh. It is earthy from the chrysanthemum (a different earthy than ripe puerh) and somewhat sweet from the white tea, weird.
I brewed this tea once in an 18oz teapot with 3 tsp leaf and 185 degree water for 3 min.
