A huge thanks to DaisyChubb for this tea! Dry, the scent is velvety, with just a touch of coconut and I can see some sizeable chunks of vanilla pod in there as well.

I oversteeped a little, so I added just a touch of sugar and it is so great! First, the black tea hits you, then the coconut. The rum takes over and the vanilla adds a really creamy touch.

Yum I’m jealous, I want some too :D

I got a 100g bag of this tea (sorry, tisane) a couple of weeks ago and I have been drinking it constantly. It makes my mouth water, it is so delicious. It really is juicy! The cream aspect just adds that extra touch that calms the juicy, fruity mirabelle plum flavour. And I LOVE green rooibos, so that is the cherry on the top. I will rate it later, this computer won’t let me.

How would you decsribe the difference between red and green rooibos? I’ve never had green and am curious!

I much prefer green to red – green has a lighter taste and is not as woody as red rooibos. It doesn’t have much of an aftertaste, really, which is great for me because it is the aftertaste in red rooibos which sometimes puts me off (this happens rarely, though).

Todays cup is especially rosy. I’m having risotto for lunch, and this fruity, floral tea cuts through the richness of the food very well.

drank Butter Pecan Black Tea by 52teas

I actually really enjoy this with a little milk (actually, cream – milk just doesn’t compare) and sugar. It has a tendency to taste a little thin with no additions but the addition of cream and sugar really kicks it up a notch. The butter aspect is more to the fore, and it becomes lovely and creamy. The sugar makes it taste like I am drinking hot ice cream! Definitely going to bump this up a little on the ratings front.

I drank a huge pot of this last night while watching Pride and Prejudice. Beautiful as usual!

That sounds like a lovely evening!

I finished off my sample of this today. I have had this before, but forgot to post about it, which is a shame.

I liked this much more the second time I had it – I messed with the steeping parameters a tiny bit and it made all the difference. The first time, I steeped it at 80 C for 2 minutes, this time, 87 C for 2 minutes. The second cup had more balance between the oolong base and the rose scent, which was a vast improvement on the first cup because that was waaaay too rosy.

The second set of steeping parameters produced a smooth, almost buttery cup which I thoroughly enjoyed. The rose made the tea quite sweet, but not overly so. All in all, a very drinkable cup.

drank Mom's Apple Pie by DAVIDsTEA

Big thanks to DaisyChubb for this one!

The dry scent of this is EXACTLY like apple pie. First, there is the cinnamon scent, followed by a sweet apple scent. I can even smell the buttery, crusty pastry (or is that just my imagination?)

I could just sit here and sniff this all night.

The worry is with teas that smell like heaven dry, they will lose their wonderful-ness when they are steeped. So, I am anxiously awaiting it to be ready. Will I be disappointed?

In a word, no. The scent is ever-so-slightly diminished upon steeping but not drastically so. The taste does not disappoint – fresh, sweet apples and warming cinnamon with a smooth, buttery green tea base. What could be better?

I ordered this as a sample with my most recent order. I have tried many sencha sakura teas in the past and most have been good, but not great, so I decided to have a go with this. The scent out of the bag is good, cherries and also a little cream (no idea where that came from). I can still detect the sencha though, which is a huge bonus. No point having tea if you can’t smell/taste tea, right? The taste is pleasant, I get juicy cherries (the taste of which reminds me of cherry Soother throat sweets, but without the horrid menthol aspect) and the green tea is also very apparent. Yay! I don’t think this is one I would drink everyday, but I might get a bag of itas a standby. It is definitely the best sencha sakura I have had.

drank Sunrise by Nothing But Tea

A fresh, citrus-y tea. I’m not actually a huge citrus-in-tea fan, but I ordered this on a whim and made it iced. The lemongrass really pops and the green mate is a good base for this. i’m glad I ordered it.

Is it possible to be immune to caffeine? I drank quite a lot of this and didn’t feel any effect. It is the same with black teas and other highly caffeinated drinks. Does anyone have any insight on this?

Wowzee! The dry scent of this is VERY strong. Lavender, a hint of vanilla and also a little bit like aniseed. Weird. I used the recommended steeping parameters, but I think this would benefit from a little less leaf and/or a shorter steep time because this was ever so slightly oversteeped. It was still good though. The aniseed scent wasn’t present in the taste (I’m glad. I hate aniseed), instead the taste was dominated by the lavender. The vanilla and the white tea lurk in the background, but are clearly present.

My love of tea began when I walked into a shop one day and they were giving out samples of jasmine silver needles. It was absolutely gorgeous, and I have been addicted to tea ever since. Jasmine silver needles remains my favourite tea to this day.

I think my favourite types are white teas and oolongs, though I will pretty much drink anything.

Aside from tea, I’m into Star Wars, music, furniture, food, Lilly Dache hats and vintage clothing.
