2301 Tasting Notes
I liked this best of the berry black Adagio teas from the TTB. The raspberry is slightly unclear, but nice, and the black tea is mild. This is a great smelling tea, but still not great enough to order. I think I might prefer this one without milk so you can taste more berry flavor.
I’m drinking this cold, and it sort of doesn’t taste like much? There’s some warmth from the turmeric and a slight bitterness from the green tea. It’s pretty plain and savory, and I prefer sweetness in my teas. The ingredients for this one are pretty simple, though, so it makes sense that there isn’t more depth.
The flavor here is quite mild, so I may have underleafed or understeeped it. The website didn’t have steeping instructions. At first, I got a light metallic flavor along with something else difficult to identify. Once I added milk, the flavor sort of reminded me of string cheese, but in a good way. There’s also a sort of almost spiced depth here. I enjoyed this one, it was just very mild due to my inexperience. I resteeped it for longer, and the flavor was pure metal, which wasn’t great. Another fun find from a recent tea box!
I was worried this tea would be too simple, but it’s so marshmallowy and delicious! It’s so soft and lightly fruity and fresh. I love it! The main flavors are marshmallow (I don’t know what’s causing that flavor, I guess the vanilla) and a nonspecific fruitiness. The cold resteep is great too. It looks like this company only makes three teas currently, but I may have to try them all, based on how much I’ve enjoyed this one! I love finding new companies through TTBs!
This smelled like it would be the sort of rooibos that I don’t love, and it sort of tastes like that, but the flavoring was nice, so I liked it. Tasty vanilla. It didn’t even need milk. Pretty smooth and nice. I forgot how much I’d enjoyed it without milk and accidentally put some in my next cup of it, which was sadly less delicious. Whoops!
This is quite smoky and meaty. With milk and sugar, it’s drinkable, but I wouldn’t really want a whole mug of this. A few sips is plenty. It’s slightly more nuanced than other lapsang blends, I guess due to the pine, but it’s still too much smoke for me.
