The pineapple scent here is so fresh!! When I tried this hot, the pineapple was juicy and zingy and fresh in just the right way. When it cooled to room temperature, the honeybush took over, and there was only a hint of pineapple. I put it in the fridge, and I like it more than at room temperature, but the pineapple still isn’t as strong as when I had it hot. I also don’t really get any cakey elements? I added some milk to try to get some of that sort of element, and I think that might also be helping the pineapple come out. You know, I really really like this one. The resteep was great too. I vote for more pineapple teas (with little to no coconut presence)!!

oooooo That sounds awesome.

I’m bummed that I finished my bag, but I just checked the website and they still have it, so I’m definitely tempted to buy more.

drank Blood Jasmine Shed by BrutaliTeas
1720 tasting notes

Finally trying my final tea from this advent calendar! I procrastinated trying this one due to the jasmine, but like the other jasmine tea in the calendar, this was actually pretty good. I taste a pleasant amount of fruitiness, and the jasmine isn’t overwhelming or anything. Everything combines together well. I’m enjoying it cold. Not something I would choose, but something I don’t regret having.

Having very limited experience with BrutaliTeas, I’m excited to try their advent this year!

AJRimmer

It sold out in 12 hours before I even heard it was open this year!

Cameron B.

Ha ha yeah it went so quickly! o.o

Lexie Aleah

I told myself last year I would do their Advent this year and what a bummer! I just assumed they didn’t have it this year.

The first time I had this, I thought it tasted nutty and mildly spiced and really pleasant with milk and sugar. It was a little fruity, but mostly nutty, and the spices were warming and nice. They often include this tea as an herbal option at St. James, and the second and third times I had it, it tasted really grapey, but in a nice sweet way. The apple and nuts are still there way in the background. The last time I was there, I finished all my teas early and they brought me an extra pot of this, which was a nice surprise.

drank Cranberry Lemonade by 52teas
1720 tasting notes

The cranberry flavor here was lovely, as it always is with 52teas. It definitely reminds me of the crisp cranberry soda flavor, which is a very good thing! This tastes really fresh and lovely cold. It has just the right amount of tartness to hint toward lemonade, but I usually find lemonade too sour, so this is perfect.

drank Cranberry Eggnog by 52teas
1720 tasting notes

I wish I could taste more eggnog, but I am enjoying this one. The green tea is really light and refreshing. There’s the mildest touch of a flavoring that’s sort of reminiscent of eggnog. The cranberry shows up as a bright fruitiness. I wanted this one to be more special, but I definitely like it

I taste some warming lemon rind and a bit of a floral element. It all combined perfectly with just a little sugar. I would normally drink something like this cold, so I was surprised by how pleasant it was warm. St. James is always broadening my horizons!

The name of this tea captured me for some reason. I’ll have to look up this company. :)

AJRimmer

They definitely just resell blends made by other companies, so I’ve never bought their loose leaf, but I love going to afternoon tea at St. James and trying 5-6 teas per session – it’s wonderful!

Courtney

Ooh, okay. That does sound wonderful!

This tastes quite floral. The apple turns out a little candy-like. The black tea doesn’t show up too much. It’s a little too floral for me, but still pleasant warm.

This is a pretty hearty plain black tea. It has some maltiness and is nice with milk and sugar. Not something I would order, but pleasant and brisk in the right way.

Gunpowder will never be my favorite. This was a little too smoky and bitter for me. It was still drinkable warm and sweetened, but it’s the first tea I’ve had at St James that I didn’t love.

drank Pear Chai by 52teas
1720 tasting notes

I get some candylike pear and some mild spices. Everything tastes nice together. I taste some ginger and other flavors. I was craving this tea the other day and was happy to find I had one last serving left in the bag. It’s pleasant cold and is one of those rare fruity spiced teas that really works.

Bio

I’m an event planner who always has multiple mugs of tea beside me. Hobbies other than tea include board games, video games, cooking international dishes, science fiction, hiking, jigsaw puzzles, tap dancing, reading, listening to podcasts, and playing with my troublesome kitties.

Favorite flavors: dessert flavors, nutty, melon, mint, strawberry, anything rooibos-related.

Don’t prefer: Smoky, rosemary, savory flavors, floral (other than lavender), plain tea.

I always drink flavored tea, and preferably caffeine-free or black. I’ll try just about anything though! Let me know if you’re interested in a swap!

My ratings are kind of meaningless, but basically
90-100 pretty perfect
80-89 really good
70-79 good, but not the best
60-69 okay, but probably not for me
1-59 varying degrees of dislike
