drank Turmeric Ginger by Octavia Tea
2297 tasting notes

I don’t love turmeric in teas, but there were few enough non-caffeinated teas in the tea box that I figured I might as well try them all. It’s not too bad, but as usual, it would be more pleasant if it were just ginger. Instead it’s slightly dirty ginger. It’s warming with just a touch of spiciness. The more I drank it, the more I did start to enjoy it, strangely. I guess what I’m saying is I wouldn’t not drink this again.

drank Candy Cane Crush by Tease

I’ve been loving candy cane teas, so this one had to be the first tea I tried from the tea box. The flavor is quite lovely. It’s like drinking a candy cane. I have to say that I don’t notice the green tea, which is fine with me. The candy cane just comes through deliciously. Wonderful.

I thought you might like this one. :D

I definitely did – thanks for including it!

drank #98 Pear Cinnabon by Tea Revv

The pear flavor here is pretty good. The rooibos is a little musty. The spices are mild. It’s not a great tea, but it’s enjoyable enough. I get where the cinnabon flavor is going.

drank Jasmine Pearls by Teapigs
2297 tasting notes

This was pretty weak. The jasmine flavor came through a little, but it largely tasted like water. Maybe this is because these teabags contained less leaf than others from Teapigs. Also, according to the label, it’s 99% green tea and 1% jasmine flowers, so maybe they need to increase the jasmine flavor in future batches.

drank Hot Apple Spice by Harney & Sons
2297 tasting notes

This tastes a lot like hot cinnamon spice. The main flavor is the spicy cinnamon. I don’t really notice the apple. Really it’s pretty indistinguishable from the other blend, though I haven’t had that one in a while. Not really a tea I would drink often since it’s pretty one dimensional to me.

I love the dark blue, almost black color that this brews up. I didn’t know how I felt about this flavor combination, but it tastes better than I’d imagined. The berry flavor is mild, and the mint fits well with it. However, the mint is the overwhelming flavor, which doesn’t really seem right for a tea of this name. You’d expect the flavor to be a lot crazier. It’s mainly mint, and I’d sooner choose many other mint blends over this one. Thanks to amandastory516 for sending this!

I needed a “Hitchhiker” fix recently—flicked on the movie and off my brain :)

AJRimmer

I know what you mean! I haven’t read the series in probably 14 years or so, but I’ve been reading his Dirk Gently series lately, which has been fun.

YES to both.

drank Creme Caramel Rooibos by DAVIDsTEA

This tea is pretty sweet and tasty. Not really creamy or caramely, but it’s a pleasant sweetness, and the rooibos is perfectly nice. It’s not super special, but no complaints really.

drank Paris Champs Fruit Tea by Teavivre
2297 tasting notes

The main flavors here are a slight tartness and a jello-like flavor. I’m finding myself wishing I hadn’t bought so many large bags of fruit tea from a company I hadn’t ordered from before, though I hear their pure teas are much better. This isn’t bad, but it’s very generic.

I used to drink this tea at our weekly tea and conversation gatherings in my hall at college, so it’ll always have a fond place in my memory. The flavor is simple, but warming and pleasant. It’s mostly chamomile, though the sweetness is accomplished in a way that’s different and interesting. I don’t like honey generally, but it works in the flavoring here. I enjoy all the chamomile offerings from Celestial Seasonings, but this is my favorite.

drank Chamomile by Celestial Seasonings

I miss when these boxes came with tea flavored chapsticks. They were so great. This tea is always a reliable choice. The chamomile flavor is so tasty without any detracting qualities. Really I enjoy this chamomile more than some loose leaf ones I’ve had.

CS had tea flavored chapsticks in the box? Whoa, when was that?

AJRimmer

It was about three years ago. I remember having chamomile, country peach passion, and peppermint scents. And the boxes still cost the same price, like $2.20. And the chapsticks were high quality – I always check the tea aisle at Walmart just in case they’ve brought them back!

tea-sipper

oh man, sounds fun. I guess I wasn’t buying CS teas three years ago? Or maybe they just weren’t supplying those special boxes everywhere.

Bio

I’m an event planner who always has multiple mugs of tea beside me. Hobbies other than tea include board games, video games, cooking international dishes, science fiction, hiking, jigsaw puzzles, tap dancing, reading, listening to podcasts, and playing with my troublesome kitties.

Favorite flavors: dessert flavors, nutty, melon, mint, strawberry, anything rooibos-related.

Don’t prefer: Smoky, rosemary, savory flavors, floral (other than lavender), plain tea.

I always drink flavored tea, and preferably caffeine-free or black. I’ll try just about anything though! Let me know if you’re interested in a swap!

My ratings are kind of meaningless, but basically
90-100 pretty perfect
80-89 really good
70-79 good, but not the best
60-69 okay, but probably not for me
1-59 varying degrees of dislike
