I hesitated before buying this tea because I didn’t think I’d like the rosemary in the blend. Thankfully, I had no reason to worry, and this one might be even better than their regular decaf EG. The flavor is so complex without being harsh. The rosemary definitely works with the black tea and the bergamot. I’m drinking it as a latte, and it’s great! The second steep is as tasty as the first. And I love the lavender in here! It adds such a perfect softness. This is a great tea.

Aw, I should have brewed this one up today. Oh and I hope Lewis Carroll was one of the blends I sent you? If you liked this, I think you’d like that one.

AJRimmer

It was! I have way too many caffeinated teas in my stash, so I’ve been very slowly getting through them all, but I look forward to trying that one for sure! S&V rarely goes wrong with their black teas.

tea-sipper

Oh good, I’m glad it was in the swap! :D

drank Eggnog Marshmallow Treat by 52teas

All these genmaichas taste the same to me, but I love them all. I can’t really say there’s anything eggnog about this, but it does have some softness added to the usual toastiness. It’s quite tasty, like all 52teas genmaicha, but I would have really liked to taste some eggnog in there.

I’m happy to have a plainish rooibos back on my shelf again. I’ve been making large pitchers of this for the fridge. It’s not super special, but it has that sweet rooibos flavor that I love. I can taste a little hint of almond and maybe some vanilla too, but mostly the rooibos shines.

Thanks to tea-sipper for this one! I’ve also had a sample of it from Mastress Alita, though I didn’t write a note at the time. The mint is really good. I’m having it at room temperature, and the flavor is so clean and fresh. I don’t taste any pistachio or black tea, but the mint is some of the best mint I’ve had. Really pleased with this one, though I don’t think I’d buy it over a caffeine-free mint blend.

Roswell Strange

Deeply regret not getting more of this when I had the chance; it was a blend that really surprised me with how much I enjoyed it! Never knew that I’d like pistachio and mint together so much.

tea-sipper

Maybe they will bring it back, Roswell (B&B’s sale in about ten days, perhaps?)

AJRimmer

I’m very excited for the sale!!

Hot, I couldn’t taste any mango at all. When it cooled off, I did notice some fruitiness that went well with the toasty genmaicha flavor, though I would have liked even more mango. I could picture this flavor as mango sticky rice. I’m enjoying it more as I’m considering the flavors. A ton of coconut went into this cup, but I don’t taste any. That’s okay with me though! The second steep tasted similar to the first.

drank Caramel Biscotti by TeBella
2303 tasting notes

This is the last tea from my November TeBella order. It’s been a pretty awesome batch, and I saved this one because I suspected I’d like it a lot. The flavor is quite desserty and sweet. There are coffee beans in it, but it doesn’t really taste like coffee, which is a relief for me. Maybe just a hint of it. Not sure I would order it again, but it’s quite a nice dessert tea. A very sweet rooibos for sure, though I wouldn’t say the name is necessarily accurate.

drank Banana Grapefruit by DAVIDsTEA

The main flavor here is definitely the grapefruit. The tea wasn’t spectacular hot, but cold, it was pretty tasty. I’ve had grapefruit teas I prefer, but grapefruit is slightly rare to find in tea flavors, so I’ve enjoyed having this one. I don’t taste any black tea (there was almost none in the blend) or banana. The grapefruit flavor could have been a little stronger still. I cold brewed the resteep overnight, and it tastes just as good as the first steep, BUT this time I’m tasting some banana! How nice.

teepland

Adding this to my Wish List. I love grapefruit and would love to find more teas that have grapefruit flavor in them!

AJRimmer

I would definitely recommend cococabana coola from Bird & Blend then! Grapefruit is the main note I got from that one!

This is a bit of a confusing blend. The main flavor is chamomile, though I can taste a bit of spice underneath. It’s blue from the butterfly pea flower, which isn’t too present in the flavor. I’m not sure what this blend is going for exactly. It tastes fine since I like chamomile. Just mild and pleasant, definitely not what you’d think of as chai. Thanks to amandastory516 for this one!

gmathis

I love the blue pea flower teas; they’re just so pretty. I have intended to try chilling the one currently under my roof (Adagio Bella Luna) … but this has been a summer of many intentions and few executions!

AJRimmer

I agree! I want to try making one into a latte sometime because that color will be fun, but I’ve never owned a blend that would go well with milk!

gmathis

Yeah, Bella Luna is blueberry-lemony. Milk would not be appropriate!

drank Moscow Mule by DAVIDsTEA
2303 tasting notes

I don’t remember why I bought this tea, but here we are. It doesn’t need any sugar. The main flavor is a fresh ginger. It tastes nice both hot and cold. I probably wouldn’t buy this again since it’s no better than grocery store brands, but I was happy to enjoy it more than I expected. Though there are lots of completely invisible fun ingredients in there, which is too bad. Maybe I can taste hints of them occasionally, but they’re really overpowered by the ginger. I would definitely just purchase straight ginger in the future.

I absolutely love some of RoT’s rooibos blends, so I figured this one was a guarantee. It does have that strong, clear rooibos taste that I enjoy, but it also has something murky that I don’t like as much. Maybe I’m not liking how the cinnamon mixes with everything else? I’ve been making pitchers of this tea to keep in my fridge, which seems to largely fix my problem. I still don’t love the flavor, but it’s refreshing enough to enjoy.

Bio

I’m an event planner who always has multiple mugs of tea beside me. Hobbies other than tea include board games, video games, cooking international dishes, science fiction, hiking, jigsaw puzzles, tap dancing, reading, listening to podcasts, and playing with my troublesome kitties.

Favorite flavors: dessert flavors, nutty, melon, mint, strawberry, anything rooibos-related.

Don’t prefer: Smoky, rosemary, savory flavors, floral (other than lavender), plain tea.

I always drink flavored tea, and preferably caffeine-free or black. I’ll try just about anything though! Let me know if you’re interested in a swap!

My ratings are kind of meaningless, but basically
90-100 pretty perfect
80-89 really good
70-79 good, but not the best
60-69 okay, but probably not for me
1-59 varying degrees of dislike
