2285 Tasting Notes
The orange flavor here is so creamy and lovely. The orange is bright, juicy, and authentic. There’s something marshmallowy and fun in there too. I only have the advent amount, but I’d love to have more! I don’t notice the black tea or the rooibos really, which is fine because the flavoring is great. The resteep was super strong and tasty as well.
Plain, there’s too much bitterness, and the raisin sort of hits me wrong – it’s pretty grapey, which feels weird in a black tea to me. With milk, the flavors are smoothed over and I find myself enjoying it a little more. Raisin-y black teas aren’t really my thing, but it seems like this tea does a pretty good job at emulating what it’s supposed to. As it cools, it gets even more grapey, which I’m not loving.
With milk, this has a pretty nice, mild banana flavor. The rooibos itself is super strong and not the most pleasant of rooibos, so unfortunately it steals a lot of the attention. The coconut leaves a fresh, tasty coconut flavor that goes well with the banana. If the rooibos could be toned down, this would be a pretty great blend. And as usual, I wish the banana could be amped up even more!
This is one of the best EGs I’ve had in a while! It tastes creamy and delicious even though I don’t think it has any cream flavoring. The black tea is smooth and tasty. There’s a hint of lavender. I don’t really notice the bergamot, but that’s okay. In the resteep, I definitely tasted the cream and bergamot. This tea is great!
Nice mint flavor with a bit of creaminess. They could get away with amping up the creaminess even more, but the flavor was pretty good. Some murkiness appears as it sits. Overall, a solid bagged choice from the tea box. I grabbed a few bags and finished them all in no time.
This one smelled great, but the flavor was a little tart and strange for me. I added some oat milk, which added a creamy element that it was definitely missing. I personally prefer a lighter, fresher orange flavor. This one was heavy, tangy, candy-like, and artificial. I’ve had it several times now, and I’m just not a fan. Maybe the rooibos base and flavoring don’t get along well. I’m not sure, but there’s something weird happening here.
I wasn’t a fan of this one either, but I might try it iced with an addition to cut the artificial sweetness. I’ve been listening to Steeping Around podcast (Maya tea) where they drink a lot of iced tea in the Arizona heat. He’s got some interesting suggestions for adding to iced tea, muddled herbs, booze, fruit juice. Maybe I’ll play around with this mimosa to sip it down.
