drank Minty Chamomile by Free Your Tea

This is mostly chamomile with some mint in the background. I enjoyed it, but it wasn’t special enough to order. It was refreshing and simple. It made a nice cold cup of tea, but not one I’ll remember.

Mild flavor, a bit orangey, sort of light and fake. I’m glad I only have the one bag from the tea box. The flavor needed to be way stronger. The reviews are right on this one!

This one definitely needs a short steep, otherwise it’s quite tart and generic. I steep it for under three minutes, then add sugar and put it in the fridge. I mean, I guess it still tastes generic, but it’s drinkable. It has the usual red fruit flavor without any intrigue. It’s frustrating just how much sugar I have to add to tame the tartness. I’ve had one tasty cup of this and three annoying ones.

The first time I had this, I found it to be really lacking in flavor since it’s just spices with no tea or rooibos to give it body. Ever since then, I’ve been overleafing, oversteeping, and adding almond milk. These steps make it taste pretty good really. It’s not very spicy or overly bold, but I enjoy the spice combination. It’s become a pretty reliable choice when I want something warm.

Bag from the tea box. The mint is so tasty, and it goes really well with the green tea. It’s mild and delicious. I usually drink herbal mint teas, but here, mixing it with the green tea does add a special something – a bit of complexity maybe. I also like that this is decaf. I don’t know that I’d order it, but I wouldn’t mind a few more bags.

This was a little bitter and meh without milk, but once I added it, the flavor transformed. It totally tastes like berries and cream (I wish their actual berries and cream flavor had been more similar to this!) The milk brings out the creaminess, and there’s a light berry flavor there too, though it’s hard to tell what kind of berry. The berry could have been stronger and more authentic. Overall, it’s probably not something I’d choose again over other choices, but it’s good.

I flipped back to my review of the same blend to compare notes with yours … it appears, across the board of reviewers, that milk is the magic that makes this one better.

I love how many pieces of strawberry are in here. You can really taste it, and it combines well with the chocolate and base tea. The tea turns out pretty light due to the smaller proportion of black tea to other ingredients, but I think it’s pretty pleasant with some milk. Not one I’d buy again, and I taste 0% pancake, but for a light strawberry chocolate tea, it’s decent. Too weak for a resteep. I had it a second time, and I didn’t get much flavor. I guess I need to overleaf in the future.

Thanks so much amandastory516 for this sample. What a tasty, marshmallowy genmaicha. This is a great balance between toastiness and marshmallowy softness. The resteep was only toastiness. And I love that this blend uses vegan marshmallows!

They got the flavoring just perfect for this one! I had it cold, and it tastes quite like root beer with that sparkly hint in there too somehow. The rooibos is the ideal base for it, really adding to the root beer flavor profile. I do a cold resteep each time, which turns out basically just as tasty. This is going to end up being yet another one to reorder in my annual S&V order.

I was just thinking of a root beer tea…

This does sound like a good pairing! Last week, I was guzzling my root-beery sassafras concentrate like it was the Fountain of Youth, but I have enough left to dump some in a cuppa rooibos…

Tiffany :)

Ooh, I love the soda root beer, if I ever make a S&V order I’ll have to get this one (I also want to try their National Parks Collection and others).

Soda inspired teas are the best teas!

Vanilla Jasmine from Golden Moon reminds me of a cream soda/root beer. Have not had it in ages.

Mastress Alita

I’ve been guzzling a chilled melon tea that I infuse with Co2, really reminds me of a soda!

This has the same pumpkin flavoring that I dislike, but with milk, the spices make it taste okay enough. The fake fruitiness isn’t great, so this advent sample has been plenty. Without that one flavoring, the spices would have made this a pretty nice chai.

I’m an event planner who always has multiple mugs of tea beside me. Hobbies other than tea include board games, video games, cooking international dishes, science fiction, hiking, jigsaw puzzles, tap dancing, reading, listening to podcasts, and playing with my troublesome kitties.

Favorite flavors: dessert flavors, nutty, melon, mint, strawberry, anything rooibos-related.

Don’t prefer: Smoky, rosemary, savory flavors, floral (other than lavender), plain tea.

I always drink flavored tea, and preferably caffeine-free or black. I’ll try just about anything though! Let me know if you’re interested in a swap!

My ratings are kind of meaningless, but basically
90-100 pretty perfect
80-89 really good
70-79 good, but not the best
60-69 okay, but probably not for me
1-59 varying degrees of dislike
