1141 Tasting Notes
This one definitely needs a short steep, otherwise it’s quite tart and generic. I steep it for under three minutes, then add sugar and put it in the fridge. I mean, I guess it still tastes generic, but it’s drinkable. It has the usual red fruit flavor without any intrigue. It’s frustrating just how much sugar I have to add to tame the tartness. I’ve had one tasty cup of this and three annoying ones.
The first time I had this, I found it to be really lacking in flavor since it’s just spices with no tea or rooibos to give it body. Ever since then, I’ve been overleafing, oversteeping, and adding almond milk. These steps make it taste pretty good really. It’s not very spicy or overly bold, but I enjoy the spice combination. It’s become a pretty reliable choice when I want something warm.
Bag from the tea box. The mint is so tasty, and it goes really well with the green tea. It’s mild and delicious. I usually drink herbal mint teas, but here, mixing it with the green tea does add a special something – a bit of complexity maybe. I also like that this is decaf. I don’t know that I’d order it, but I wouldn’t mind a few more bags.
This was a little bitter and meh without milk, but once I added it, the flavor transformed. It totally tastes like berries and cream (I wish their actual berries and cream flavor had been more similar to this!) The milk brings out the creaminess, and there’s a light berry flavor there too, though it’s hard to tell what kind of berry. The berry could have been stronger and more authentic. Overall, it’s probably not something I’d choose again over other choices, but it’s good.
I love how many pieces of strawberry are in here. You can really taste it, and it combines well with the chocolate and base tea. The tea turns out pretty light due to the smaller proportion of black tea to other ingredients, but I think it’s pretty pleasant with some milk. Not one I’d buy again, and I taste 0% pancake, but for a light strawberry chocolate tea, it’s decent. Too weak for a resteep. I had it a second time, and I didn’t get much flavor. I guess I need to overleaf in the future.
They got the flavoring just perfect for this one! I had it cold, and it tastes quite like root beer with that sparkly hint in there too somehow. The rooibos is the ideal base for it, really adding to the root beer flavor profile. I do a cold resteep each time, which turns out basically just as tasty. This is going to end up being yet another one to reorder in my annual S&V order.
