From white2tea

2020 Fuding Baicha ~ 25g – This tea was lightly pressed and then broken apart by the maker soon after, then stored in Fujian province since, and then rescued by us last year. If you’re a follower of our social media journeys, you may remember that we went to Fuding in 2024. The coastal city of Fujian province, known primarily for their white tea, is full of tea to sift through from the past several years, though any claims beyond that should be met with a hefty dose of skepticism. In our learned opinion, almost any white tea from Fuding before 2010’s is almost assuredly fake, though that doesn’t stop the devious or the ignorant from claiming otherwise. And why not? It’s pretty sexy to tell people you have white tea from 20 years ago and truth is hard to come by these days. We only mention this so that you can avoid the scams floating around with inflated stories. As always, the real key is the tea in the cup, and we think this one is great. If you like this 2020 Fuding Baicha, we’d recommend you try our 2023 Young Fun, which despite being only a couple years old, is a really beautiful experience. Any of our older Fujian white teas are worth a spin too.
We will likely make a bit more Fuding white tea again this spring, it’s a favorite of ours and we love it more as it ages.
Brewing instructions: Boiling water for all, or if you prefer a light experience drop down to 90-95C. We prefer gongfu style for all of these teas, with around 5g-6g per 100ml of water, but life is busy and these teas will all function just fine in a mug, thermos or not-so-attentive brewing in a teapot that is left unwatched while you fret over life’s details.
