From Whispering Pines Tea Company

Tieguanyin (TGY) is one of the most famous teas in the world. Coming from Anxi, China, TGY is known for its beautiful floral notes and intoxicating aroma. I searched high and low for a TGY that would be the purest representation of the expert hand-processing that has become far too rare in modern tea production, and I am proud to say that I found it! The cost is extremely high, but I’m offering this tea with barely any markup so that you can experience the purest and most decadent example of Anxi Tieguanyin that I’ve had the pleasure to drink!

Autumn Jade Tieguanyin is absolutely stunning to look at. The greenest of greens, an almost emerald-like shine to the dry leaf, this oolong is beautiful! I’ve learned though that you can’t always judge a tea by its visual appearance, but in this case, the beauty of the leaf translates straight into the flavor! Opening up with thick, luscious lilac notes, floating through a buttery body, Autumn Jade TGY is pure nectar! Mid-sip presents a light pine note, a hint of pear, and a creamy mouthfeel. The finish hints at nutmeg and honeysuckle nectar, leaving you with a cooling sensation from your throat to your lips. That sweet finish lingers for literally hours after the last sip.

I am very proud to have sourced this stunning tea and hope that you get the chance to enjoy it as well!

This was one of the teas I was most excited about in my last WP order! I love love love floral oolongs, and from TheTeaFairy’s note, this tea was pretty floral.
She was not wrong. xD
Tried this one yesterday and really enjoyed it.
Not too much butter notes, mainly floral, and orchard-like. That’s not a word. And I’m not really sure how to describe it. It’s just one of those teas that makes you feel awake and like it clears your senses. It’s refreshing and smooth. It reminds me of flowers and being outside, which I usually hate, but in this instance I think of it in a good way…But I just can’t describe it.
The first cup of it was really light, the second time I steeped it longer and it brought the floral notes out better. I really am going to enjoy the rest of this.
Probably won’t buy more just because I can get cheaper floral oolongs elsewhere. But I have really wanted to try this one and I’m so happy I did! I will savor the ounce I have of it! And maybe in a really good sale I’ll pick up more!
Lovely tea, and the color of the dry leaves is absolutely gorgeous!
Another fantastic tea from WP! :D

Also, this is my 500th tasting note! Woo! I thought that reviewing this tea would be pretty fitting since the first tea I ever reviewed was an oolong. So why not mark a milestone with another oolong? :P Definitely prefer this to Teavana’s Monkey Picked Oolong, which was the tea I first reviewed. Mann I really was missing out for so many years! XD Anyway yah for 500!!

So how do you even describe what the sky tastes like?

Well if I had to, I’d say it tastes just like Autumn Jade Tieguanyin… New tea from WP!!!

Yes, this tea is heavenly good.

The greenest of the greens, it wears its name really well.

The taste is pure and ethereal…

Feels like a light fluffy cloud in the mouth.

Sweet and delicate with a buttery mouthfeel.

It’s floral, lilac lovers you will love this!

The smell is intoxicating…

Imagine being in one of China’s most luxuriant garden in the springtime. Never been to China, but that’s how I imagine it would smell like.

I get a hint of spice that translates as nutmeg for me. I often get that from good quality green high mountain oolongs. There’s a minty fresh finish to the sip that just makes my mouth feels so clean.

This tea will give you angel breath!

I highly recommend it to all green oolong lovers…

I’m still floating on my oolong cloud after 6 excellent steeps. Get this. It has all the noms you need.

what a beautiful review, I find that really good Tieguanyins remind me of springtime in China (where I have been) as well!
