I am a late bloomer to the world of The Phantom of the Opera; however, after I read the book, I fell in love with the story. Strangely enough, I read a book that tells the story of AFTER the classic novel before reading the classic. Prince of Conjurers, by Laurie L. Bolanos, was quite the fascinating and entertaining read – set in New Orleans, this novel will appeal to anyone who loves a good Gothic romance, a well thought out story, and anyone who loved the classic novel.
