From The Tea Spot

Love Potion No. 9 is an aromatic dessert tea of premium Assam tea with real pieces of gourmet toffee-coated coconut. This is a handcrafted dessert tea introduced to replace the earlier Creme Caramel Black Tea. It’s like breathing in a caramel truffle, and warming yourself in a sweet haze—and best of all—it’s guilt free!

Ingredients: Assam black tea, butterscotch candy (coconut, sugar, cashew nut flour, baking soda), flavoring

I have been looking for a tea with rich caramel flavor built upon the solid base of a good black tea and this one is a definite contender. This is a tea to savor and enjoy.

Small dark dry leaves, tightly rolled with a sweetly earthy smell, produce a clear reddish-brown tea liquor. A nice base of Assam complimented by the rich sweetness of a butterscotch/caramel flavor. The aroma as the tea steeps is very enticing. I went for a resteep and, as expected, the sweet accent flavor diminished a bit but the base itself can stand up to a resteep. The aroma of the resteep was almost as strong as that from the original brew.

If you enjoy a caramel black tea, this one is worthy of your consideration. 1 solid teaspoon in 8oz of 210 degree water with a 4m steep and a 5m resteep worked well for me.

I wasn’t really in the mood for caramel but this has been sitting and calling to me. The dry leaf had a candy scent to it and did not appeal to me. But I moved ahead and made the tea any ways. Now the aroma changed to a lovely smooth caramel. The taste is lovely black tea with a smooth caramel. This was a total surprise as I didn’t really expect to like it but I am totally won over. I wish I had more. I tried a resteep and it was ok. Not really as good as the first steep.

From the reddit traveling tea box.

Oh wow, this is good! This is an assam black with butterscotch candy (that has coconut in it). The assam base is really good, with the sweet, smooth candy flavor finish. The assam has briskness end of sip. This is a great blend for assam lovers. Too bad there was only 1 serving for this tea.

Oh hey, this is a teaspot tea – they were super nice (and busy) at the World Tea Expo. I got a spiffy tote bag from them!

Sounds yummy!
