I have been very lucky in my tea choices lately. I have another tea here that is awesome. I got a Breville tea kettle (most wonderful tea accessory EVER!), so I have been ordering and making a lot of tea. This Chai is so full bodied! The cardamon cloves swell as it steeps which I hadn’t seen before, I guess some of the other chai teas were more finely ground. I used to use the Oregon Trail or Tazo pre – made mix and added soy milk. That was very good but I needed a zero calorie alternative. I tried several varieties like Teavana’s Marahajah chai. It was OK but not quite what I was looking for. This Chai is good with a little sweetener and I don’t need any milk, so … no calories. Can be steeped 2-3 times.

I’m finishing up tin and am a little disappointed. All the good stuff has been used up and I’m mostly left with the smaller bits and pieces. I know it’s my fault, I shouldn’t have been so greed with all the yummy parts. Now there is very little of the cardamom and other spices. I steeped it strong and added sweetener but its still missing the full bodied flavor I enjoyed so much previously. Oh well, my bad.

This is definitely nice and spicy, but I’d like a bit more actual tea in it. However, I’m so over weakly spiced chais that this was a relative delight! It does come across as a bit thin-bodied and astringent, which is why I think more tea would help. Adding milk helped with the astringency but then dulled the flavor too much.
