Thank you to MeghannM for the opportunity to taste this tea. It’s a discreet little black tea with definite lemony and berry overtones. What berry? I don’t know—the berry is too elusive to pin down. I think that it’s a nice blend but when I say “nice” perhaps I am damning the tea with faint praise. Nothing really steps up and shouts out “Look at me! Smell me! Taste me!”

If I had had this tea 6 months ago I would have been mightily impressed but I’ve tasted so many black blends since then that I’ve become a bit fussy and I want all teas to stand up, salute, tap dance, and do cart-wheels in an utterly original way. This particular blend seems like it could be a great basic afternoon blend for somebody who wants something different than Earl Grey or other well-established afternoon teas.

Lol! I love your criteria for a good black tea :D

This tea definitely was not deserving of an encore, standing ovation or any high praise. It held up well as a lightly flavored black tea, but it seemed to blend into the flavored black tea crowd rather than be a misfit. I prefer the misfit.

This isn’t too bad. I don’t know if it is something I originally would have picked up for myself the first time around but if I was a regular customer would probably have sampled some.

I really needed a black or flavored black before moving on to some of the other teas in my NEW pile so I thought I would try this.

Honestly, as I sip this…it’s growing on me more…

I would say the black tea taste is mellow to medium and the flavoring is about the same.

Fairly tasty.

As the water cools (but still quite warm) I am liking this one better and better. Just a side note…

I made up a pitcher of Lemonberry black tea this morning so I would have a refreshing caffeinated tea to drink upon returning from work. This tea pulled through when I needed the afternoon pick me up.

The aroma is strong on the lemon, light on the berry, but in the taste, both were more subtle. The black tea base took over the flavor of the tea more than the citrus or berry. I’ll have to give this a try hot and see if more of the flavors that were in the aroma can be brought out.

Thanks to Meghann M for also sending me this tea.

There is definitely a nice lemon and berry scent to this before steeping. After steeping, the lemon and berry scents become a little less noticeable…

Steeping this tea produces a nice darkish red liquor on the first steep. The taste of the ceylon is quite strong, and the lemon and berry flavors become almost non-existent. The second steep produces a deep yellow liquor. The ceylon taste is much lighter, and it is a little bit easier to taste the lemon and berry. Third steep, not that great…. this tea maxes out at 2 steeps….

Not too bad
