Pretty strong bergamot, but not much else going on. I can’t see what about this blend says ice cream. The name was so exciting, but there’s really nothing that distinguishes it from other blends. I followed the advice that someone posted on here a few weeks ago and added cool whip to the cup, but then it became more of an exercise in eating cool whip and not so much in tasting the tea. That being said, I’m definitely adding cool whip to a different EG blend I have tomorrow.

Another one of the 12 teas of Xmas I hadn´t opened yet…and will never again open, I think. I love Earl Grey, but I couldn´t find it here; also the “ice cream” part is a mystery to me : is it that slight touch of vanilla creeping in at some time? This was mucky water, nothing more, so not at all enjoyable.

#adventageddon Day Twenty – 5/6

Really fun concept but poor execution of it. I believe this is essentially just intended to be a vanilla or cream flavoured Earl Grey, and it does taste a little bit creamy but it’s a REALLY floral tasting bergamot oil that’s been used in the blending and the cup finishes almost painfully soapy. I had two EG teas in my advent picks today and this was by far the worst of them…

Bitter. Some floral and sweet flavors, but didn’t like. Todd liked it – but also likes Earl Grey in general. Recommends adding a dash of milk or mix with hot frothed milk for a lattea. Part of TeaRevv Advent Calendar Collection. Tasted 12.2018

0/10 for me, 9/10 for Todd.

Tea Revv Advent Calendar – Day 8

(originally written November 8th)

A little late writing about this one, though I made the pot this morning work has been rather hectic and I’m still sipping on it every so often.

It’s a decent enough Earl Grey cream blend. The bergamot here is a bit too strong in my opinion, as it goes rather bitter and perfumey. I can’t taste the base tea at all next to the bergamot.

While I do appreciate the vanilla and cream flavors, they need to be much stronger in my opinion.

I feel I’m always disappointed by Earl Grey cream blends. I really need to find a good one, because I love the concept!

This was just a bitter, harsh Earl Grey with a teensy tiny hint of creaminess in the finish. I admit I’m not the world’s biggest EG fan, but this was just gross and not well done. I drank about half the cup because I was stuck with it in my car and I have a sore throat so warm felt good – but once I got home, I dumped the rest.

Sipdown (353)

“Ice cream” always gets me. Even if there is bergamot, if the words “ice cream” comes first, I’m in. That’s why, I tried this last year when I was sick but saved a serving for when my tastebuds were better.

Alas, this is not my favorite. It is sort of creamy vanilla, as EGCs are but it’s not ice cream. That creamy vanilla doesn’t compensate for the sort of flat and slightly bitter earl grey component of this. It beats out the creamy vanilla which makes this cup less enjoyable and more soapy than I would like. It’s the last cup though so I can finish this and say good bye for good.
