BLEND STORY

Entering the house, I am greeted by an enticing aroma. It beckons me to the kitchen where the table is set for tea and clouds of lavender-scented steam is wafting from the teapot. I breathe in deeply, the soothing aroma refreshing my spirits.

Earl Grey tea derives its signature taste from the addition of the aromatic bergamot oil. Natural bergamot oil is extracted from the rind of the plant and used to blend authentic Earl Grey and is known for its calming, restorative and anti-depressant properties.

This blend uses organic ultra lavender freshly-harvested in Provence, France. It is the highest-quality lavender (tea grade) with the greatest concentration of floral essential oils. The addition of lavender in an Earl Grey blend is beloved in France. Lavender is believed to have a soothing effect and can help promote natural sleep. The aromatic flowers are added to tea blends to lend their distinctive perfume and a refreshing quality.

Each of our oversize teabags is strong enough to brew two cups of tea.

Please note that the blend number above may not match the blend number listed on your packaging. This difference is due to a recent packaging changeover, and does not affect the tea blend inside the teabag.

It has the perfect balance of floral and herbal flavour and is both rich and delicate. – ICON Reginald Archambault

Robust and smooth Ceylon black tea expanded in the sachet like one of those dinosaur sponges in a capsule. Tastewise, this was a casualty of COVID. Impressions of dark wet tobacco, dark rainforest shadows, copper. I remember a little bergamot and the feeling of cool lavender. High octane and good for 2 steeps — keep your eye on the first steep.

I think I oversteeped this tea. It is overly bitter, can’t really taste anything else. This will definitely wake you up, but not in a good way.

Some Teas can withstand 5 minutes of steeping and taste great, but this tastes like I am eating bitter leaves or drinking super bitter beer.
