Being a matcha fan, I had to try this tea. The subtle flavour of almond was to my liking. I feel there was something missing though and it could have been better. Will be looking out for more of their blends in the future.

Tried this one as a latte first thing this morning, and it was as good as I’d hoped based on yesterday’s shot. Smooth, creamy, slightly nutty deliciousness. I’d like to get back to some kind of matcha routine, if I can, because it does make me feel more awake over time.

Unfortunately, once my sample of this one is gone, then it’s gone from my cupboard for good. Last time I looked, Matcha Outlet’s shipping prices to the UK had skyrocketed. Fortunately, Bluebird and Teapigs are beginning to come out with their own flavoured matcha, although I doubt they’re in quite the same league as these. Guess I’ll find out!

There was a sample of this sitting in my cupboard that I finally got around to trying. I love matcha but it takes a bit more work than you average cup of tea. It smells and tastes very strongly of almond extract which I’m pretty sure was what was used to flavour this tea. Not that I mind I love almond extract – it makes me think of baking. But if you’re not a fan of almond extract this probably isn’t a matcha for you.

I prepared this matcha by sifting in 3/4 tsp of matcha powder then I added a few tablespoons of hot water just enough to help break up the clumps and then I added about a 3/4 cup of hot skim milk, and together with a drizzle of honey I whisked everything together in my mug and topped it with a few spoonfuls of frothed milk.

It’s a yummy treat on a rainy day like today. It’s absolutely pouring outside and my patio looks like a lake. I’m so glad it held off for my grad though, the actual ceremony was inside, but afterwards we all went over to one of a my prof’s houses for a BBQ

This is absolutely delicious. I have to play around with how much to put in my matcha bowl. The first time I tried this it was too bitter at toward the end. I also tried this with milk and a bit of brown sugar, and that combination was DELICIOUS. I love the almond flavor and taste. It reminds me a bit of amaretto.

Matcha TTB

I had this as a latte with breakfast. It was an open sample and I’m thinking it may have lost some of its flavor, because I didn’t really pick up on much almond in the scent or the flavor. It was just a mild, sweet, slightly nutty matcha. Not bad, but not what I was expecting. I’m not going to rate this one since I suspect flavor loss.

I’ve been waiting for this red leaf order for a while now so despite the fact that I really (really) should be studying now and not writing tea reviews, I had to open up this package.
Holy smokes this tea has one potent smell. Hella strong. And I love it. All things almond/marzipan/cherry/amaretto you name it – I’ll consume it. I am not a matcha drinker by any means so I was skeptical of all these amazing reviews and kind of intimidated by matcha. (You’re scary, matcha – deal with it) .
Anyways… I made this cold and with milk as per the directions in my magic bullet and I was pleasantly surprised! Albeit the flavour wasn’t too strong for “robust” but I’d blame myself for being scared and not using enough…… Whoops.
Anyways, I’ll write a proper review (later?!) but I wanted to procrastinate document my first thoughts on it while I still had it in my hands. Yay, almondy goodness.

I like this one. It’s a good twist on a classic. I wouldn’t drink it every day, but it was a nice change from the norm. The taste is mildly ‘fake’ but still a great idea.

I had this one as a matcha milk last night. It was surprisingly tasty considering almonds are not my favourite thing as a general rule.

It had a natural sweetness to it that hinted at almond abstract, but not nearly as strong. It came across almost like a sweetened almond milk with a hint of matcha.

I don’t need it in my cupboard, but I wouldn’t turn down a cup.

To be honest I couldn’t drink this. The aroma was too strong for me, it was a sickly sweet candy smell. It was overpowering soo much so that I couldn’t bring myself to drink it, my mother had a cup & said it wasn’t good at all.

Oh, my goodness, I may have a new favorite matcha tea! Red Leaf Tea’s Almond Matcha Tea is amazing from the moment that you open the pouch. The sweet smell of almond wafts from the pouch to enlighten your senses. It smells like sweet almond extract vice the almond nuts. When brewed in tea, the tea still smells sweetly like almond extract, but does not taste that way. The taste is a more subtle nutty flavor – a complete change from the smell, but quite pleasing. It does leave a heavier aftertaste in my mouth compared to their other matcha teas – sort of like coffee might. Typically the taste of tea does not linger in my mouth too long after drinking it, so that was different about this tea compared to others I have drank. I make my tea each morning by mixing the matcha with boiling water from my teapot in a thermos I bring to work and enjoy throughout the morning. Perhaps it is a limitation of how I make the tea, but by the end of the thermos, the last cup from the bottom is very dense with tea despite mixing between refills. I often mix this with some additional water to make the right consistency for my last cup. (I can’t wait to order more from their website http://www.redleaftea.com/matcha-tea/almond-matcha.html ! )
